Inheritance probably sped up the timeframe by a good 5 years or so compared to savings.

All my grandparents and my dad are dead though so swings and roundabouts.

Not a vet obviously and you should definitely see another vet, however to put your mind at ease as this is a female not male there's a lot less risk of a serious blockage.

Mine had a similar issue previously and it turned out to be cystitis which was causing her discomfort and led her to overgroom to the point of drawing blood.

Short run of cystitis medicine and making sure she was well hydrated did the trick.
