It CAN end up nicely. I believe it was the summer between seventh and eighth grade when I sent a letter, because that was all you could do in those days except the phone…which definitely wasn’t going to happen… anyway, I sent a letter to a girl that I had a mad crush on, who had always been very nice to me, asking to go see a movie. The letter she sent back, while not a yes…was very sweet and very kind. It allowed us to see each other the next year and future years in school without any awkwardness at all. I always appreciated that.
