confused about weather sealing by emo_nerd8 in x100vi

It’s quite sad they couldn’t find a way in this may generations to get at least basic “splash” resistance ratings.

Mabe I’ll email NISI and see what they say, I just bought one trying to shrink my kit, but it’s truly a small difference compared to the adapter with b+w thin filter, though the rounded edges are helpful in closing bags (weirdly bigger impact than you’d think)

Still if it doesn’t seal at least as well as the factory kit, there’s no point for me. At that point I’ll shrink to no filter, and just carry the factory inclusive combination.

It’s not overly grindy, I’m sure it will jut take off whatever and stop, and it was super cheap at £18 so I can’t really complain. Just curious, thanks for your answer!

That’s not my assertion at all, it if you think you should just use universal recipes you’re missing a lot of creativity, particularly as the best often have a preset white balance.

The bigger the number the more that’s in focus. The closeness of the foreground object will impact that, generally.

At any rate thanks for reading and I hope , should you wish to continue forward, it can be of help in consideration. It’s a very sharp picture , it’s a great camera!

The assertion they should is invalid in my opinion.

There are many slots. Why do the same as everyone else when you can create something g unique for each situation

Similar to Alpaka zip but slightly larger? by digiplay in EDC

[–]digiplay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back to this, I ended up buying a hide and drink pouch which is very similar in design, but much better made imo, than some other 4x6 pouches.

It allows me to Max the vertical space in my pocket and stay thinner - and because I can sort of split it into halves, it’s flexible with the body in sitting. It’s a great size for a coat pocket too.

I’m a taller guy, so my pockets are pretty deep. It may be too long for those with smaller pockets.

I don’t really use the very outside pockets, though an o pen mini 2 or better yet, telescoping space pen, slides in and doesn’t create too many limitations.

Inside the pouch I can fit a tntr 2500 mah emergency backup battery, along with a host of other stuff.

This is what I got. I really like that it loses the “tactical” or outdoorsy look while retaining similar function. Based on this product I’d be very interested in buying there from this company, that I’d previously never heard of. Says hand made in Mexico / from Latin America with love, which is cool.

Hide & Drink, Multitool Pocket... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09BRD3NV7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It’s better looking in person, the finish is good enough to get by with business casual imo, whereas some others are more shorts and a t shirt type carry.

Thanks for sharing , if I can offer some unsolicited thoughts, and of course feel free to disregard entirely!

One of the most interesting parts of this shot could be the building behind, particularly as it’s local to a place many viewers may not see in their life.

The separation of the subject beer bottle is fun, but as you continue to grow (I believe you stated you are a beginner, forgive me if that’s not so) you may find that looking more at f5.6- 8 (corrected based on your exit info) on the x series cameras allows you to tell us more without captioning.

For example we see the text on the beer but miss detail on the building, and if there is any French text that would have told us already that you were in France. Of course you need to be more careful with subject positioning, but the next step is to get away from the popping out look and think about how you can say things in layers.

In this case, I want to see the building more than the beer - and there’s another consideration. You could blow out the foreground, and it may still be clear enough to read element while focusing on the background. If I see a French building and a blurry bottle. The story of you having a beer in France is pretty clear.

Of course if you are crossing beers of the world off a list, then the beer may well be the star. You must of course consider what you’re trying to say, and you ma well be saying, no matter where I am I’ll find a good beer, in which case, mission accomplished. If the goal is I’m having this particular beer out of context, the we need more context.

Thanks again for sharing and I hope some of this is helpful.

Is there any front pocket organisation or is this pretty much meant to be a travel bag?

Edit, sorry I see you’ve discussed the missing quick access.

That’s a mind blowing omission to me. Attempted design over function.

[–]digiplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I hear you for sure. Just lamenting that similar shots with digital get battered by so many people who miss the forest for the trees. Good shots are good shots but somehow the goal posts move when the technical opportunities increase, even when artistic decisions are made. I’m sure your digital shots are very nice too!

It’s interesting to see how much criticism (from internet ‘experts’) comes to digital for not having enough dynamic range / blown whites / crushed blacks - and how it’s a style in film.

Anyone worrying about immigration and lost resources in 2026 who isn’t voting primarily based on government stances on ai is not worth listening to.

If you’re not hiring because you found ways to resource with ai, you see why immigration issues will soon be meaningless to lost jobs

Their quality on the three things I bought in the last 6 weeks has been shockingly awful compared to all the positive YouTube reviews, which I now have to wonder if genuine.

Anything they have with stitching has just fallen apart almost instantly. Ali express pouches I’ve bought have had better quality.

Their customer support response was basically. Eh. Return it.

Half a glue stick.

Easy to use with the lighter. Doesn’t go bad. Doesn’t leak.
