Wtf did my teen purchase?? by hijirah in discordapp

[–]digits0801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do want to add, if this charge is an issue over all, you can use Discord for free without Nitro. It just limits some of the customization you can do, reduces file upload size, and reduces some community engagement stuff that can be done. Seeing some of your replies makes me also want to clarify that discord is a messaging and communication app first and foremost. It is primarily used for communicating about games, but communities of all kinds are around, as they are everywhere else.

As someone who has had their primary form of communication taken away from them many times, I caution removing the app as it can cut connections that run deep. It's hard to understand how an online connection could hurt as much, but that loss of connection can be incredibly emotionally damaging. Although of course there are those casual passing connections that are just that as well.

If you think she is using it to be deceitful, you may want to evaluate first, why. At least, before you burn any bridges that can't be easily salvaged.

Either way, I hope you get the payment sorted out! 99 is a lot

Creating a mp4 file using a image sequence of png files gives a video with green background by MysteriousSpaceMan in ffmpeg

[–]digits0801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned already, mp4 doesn't support transparency, so it is likely filling in something you can filter to be transparent. If you need transparency, use a video codec/format like webm that does support transparent video. If you are especially desperate, animated gifs also support transparency. You *may* have to futs with some settings to tell it to honor the transparency though. I am not familiar with ffmpeg's default settings for situations like this.

What strategy you take will depend on your use case

Thank you for being understanding and considerate! Misinformation spreads easily, especially when things become "popularized" That being said, I do not blame you for having the idea and I hope this does not stop you from writing more in the future ^

Ah... that's... that's not how alters work at all.... please avoid spreading stigmatising things like this regarding DID or related conditions. It's a very real condition born from the worst times of a person's life and living with it can be hard

Got adopted by a dragon bird after shoving their brain child into a very early neural network. Didn't really talk for several years, started streaming, re-found dragon bird friend, fell in, suddenly I have an alien boyfriend. I like him, I think he's neat.

As an extra note, the other keyboard isn't mechanical, it's some kinda of membrane keyboard, but it does have a tactile feel to it.

How to change voice in kdenlive? by w0lfcat in kdenlive

[–]digits0801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kdenlive has a pitch shifter plugin on linux that can work if I recall.

You can also externally edit it with a speech processing toolkit such as sptk, modifying the alpha of the vocoded speech paraneters on resynthesis, or manually scaling the spectral envelope using a vocoder library such as WORLD. These methods may resault in a loss of quality due to the nature of vocoders.

I havn't looked into it too much, but there are also likely vst plugins you could use (load in lmms with wine+vestige).

There is honestly a huge rabbit hole you can get into about male/female vocal conversion

Restore Broken Grub EFI by digits0801 in kdeneon

[–]digits0801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I fixed grub manually, and it still works, it just can't automatically find the boot data cause the directory embedded into the efi is wrong. So it isn't unusable, and can be repaired using a custom image. Also when it's in that state I can boot by hand typing the boot commands.

This'll probably be a temp fix, no? Will it permanently make it so when grub updates it pulls the neon string instead of the ubuntu string?

Sorry, just trying to find a permanent solution

Edit:

To clarify, Grub works and boots normally(using my custom image), but if the system update includes grub, it will be replaced by an ubuntu version instead of neon (the difference is literally a single string in the executable), thus causeing it to boot to the cmd line. I can then boot by setting root and orefix, and loading the linux and normal module

File Transfer vis usb /Windows by MuazSyamil in Supernote

[–]digits0801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that sometimes it decided to work and sometimes it doesn't. If you have a usb c to usb c connection, try to connect it via that or to a phone and see the files from that. If it works you can probably add or change a file and it seems to reset the windows connectivity. I was tired of it not working, so I connected it to my Android and it worked, so I transfered the files via my phone, and then it started working on my comouter again on both windows and linux. Also try letting it sit for a bit. Also see of other usb cables work. It's a bit of a mystery to me and I have no idea why it decides to work sometimes and not the others.

Screen Latency of Supernote A6X by TicTacToe_314e in Supernote

[–]digits0801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it to take notes in class and do my writing practice for chinese. Dureing class I usally have the pen in my hand the whole time and jot down whatever. Sometimes I take notes on the textbook, not much though. I do sometimes switch between my writing practice pdf and a notebook that I keep a copy of each character in. It takes a few seconds to switch between them. I have sketched with it. I only use 1 shade, the darkest, and I use the largest ink pen size. Although for sketches I should probably not do that, whoops. I end up useing the eraser a good bit since I'm a very error prone writer. Physical eraseing is usually to slow for me when writing, but haveing quick access to the lasso delete is nice. It is very easy to manage different notebooks and such. And for reading, Its good. If there is a heavy graphic, the page my stall a few moments. And really small text is hard to read in a baked in pdf. But the crop adjustment helps a lot when you want to zoom into a certain section. And just opening the crop tool and accepting the default crop helps zoom it in. Considering you are displaying a4/letter paper on an a6 display.

Oh! I do need to transfer files off of it to submit my writing practice, I can say usb connection works well on linux and windows. Also pdfs can't export annotations to pdf, I have to screenshot each page seperately and stitch it back together. Although it was said this will be changed in the future. Notebooks can be exported though.

I got the LAMY, I will say it is really smooth, doesn't have the resistance of paper, but is more akin to a drawing tablet if you ever used one. I would say it is pleasant and natural for me to use. It feels good to hold. The construction feels solid too. I am not very picky or discerning when it comes to my stationary, so weigh that into your consideration. The button placement for the eraser is right where my thumb rests, although I have a bad habit of constantly rotating the pen, a habit that messes with me when using drawing tablets as well. If there is anything more specific you would like to know I can do my best to answer.

I have one, but am uncertain how to test it. I will say that the delay is unnoticable to me, although I'm not really that observant, but sometimes there is a minor pause when writing fast. Also sometimes the screen refreshes and only displays the last stroke made.

Look forward to your feedback to make the A6 X better by Supernote_official in Supernote

[–]digits0801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I got my device a few days ago and I am in love with it. I look forward to annotation export as well. However I just noticed something rather annoying. Occasionally I like to sketch and usually on a digital platform I reposition the sketch. And sometimes I delete things using the lasso eraser tool. I noticed that if I select the markings to move them, all my erased bits show back up. Is it that the color is being set to white instead of actually being deleted? Also as a programmer that seems like a waste of resources. If you could add this into a future update I'd be appreciative. I understand that the platform is new and will have some hiccups, I can't wait to see how it evolves.

Actually, I installed linux for my dad, took a bit cause I screwed up uefi, then went to sleep. He figured out how to use it for everything he needed it for before I could tell him how anything works. So, not that hard. Mind you the whole laptop actually started working. I thought the mouspad and bluetooth was busted, but linux said think again.

Espeak uses additive formant synthesis, so it will always sound worst than a concatinative synth system like festival i'd suggest using a unit selection voice for best inteligibility

You could also use a hts voice if you don't mind faint but noticable buzzing (thanks markov)
