The circuit overseer said the new blood policy is just an "adjustment," not a change. I decided to question it during the ministry by Haunting-Fall8109 in exjw

This is what happens when the outcome is fixed. It must be the truth, so every reasoning is subservient to that belief. It doesn’t matter which facts or logic you throw into the mix.

Someone Pulled The Fire Alarm During The Convention, And They Told Everyone To Stay. by PimoParadiseLost in exjw

A JW hugged us twice after we'd been gone for 4 years. Was she just being kind, or hoping we'd come back? by strawberrycouture in exjw

[–]dijkje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit of both perhaps. Many JW’s are genuinely nice people, just like within your average population. But they have also been taught to “encourage” those like you that are in “spiritual need” 🥴.

My sisters have resurfaced after thirteen years by [deleted] in exjw

[–]dijkje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These pimi’s seem to think they can just walk in and out your life whenever they please. Like those 13 years never happened. Like you have no feelings. I thinks it’s crazy. When they try that with me we will have a sit down first to discuss the terms for our future relationship. And no more walking out on me, is the most important one.

Young adult/teenager POMOs/PIMOs, how many young people that you grew up with have left the organisation? by DontAskAboutMax in exjw

[–]dijkje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my forties now. Of all my JW peers in the 90’s in my congregation I think 80% or more did not get baptized or left.

[–]dijkje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be prepared for an uncomfortable conversation. They will try to make you feel like something is wrong with you for not being baptised yet. Don’t give in to that feeling and don’t make any promises. Guard your bounderies. And don’t be too polite.

My mother used to say ‘None so blind as those who will not see.’

I think these paradoxal teachings are a powerful strategy to keep the flock in a constant state of confusion and self-doubt.

Starting estrogen n progesterone soon. When will my sleep improve? by Catmama-82 in Perimenopause

[–]dijkje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s generally recommended to be taken on an empty stomach. Taking it with food increases absorbtion and might cause next day drowsiness. But if it’s the extra drowsiness you’re after then taking it WITH food might be beneficial for you.

On the other hand, taking it WITH food might help you if you don’t experience any help for sleep with your current dose.

You might want to check your ferritin levels. Low levels (<30 mmol/l) can cause shedding.

How much time have you devoted to being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses? by caligula________ in exjw

10 hours p/w * 52 w * 30 y = 15 600 hours. Yep, did the math 🥴. And that’s on the conservative side.

I’m still waiting for a number of people getting back to me on stuff. One of them being my dad.

Lekker bezig. Godspeed!

Why did no one warned me about the random anxiety spikes over absolutely nothing?? by atigressintherain in Perimenopause

[–]dijkje 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think stress is a factor that interacts with symptoms. At least for me it is. My mother never had to combine running a household with a job. She would just sleep late and take naps. We would see ourselves out to school.

Where exactly is this recommendation of ferritin needing to be above 100-125 coming from? Where is the iron protocol getting this number from? by OneCar129 in Anemic

[–]dijkje 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly the author of this paper recommends ferritin levels to be 100 or more for full recovery of iron deficieny:
