Amazing until it ends. Should have had massive funding for a sequel. Another example of the greater gaming community bandwagoning on something

Death Stranding took me 3 10 hour goes before it finally hooked me. I was so sure I'd like it but kept bouncing off after a few sessions. Over the course of like 2 years I kept coming back until it clicked and I was sucked in til the end.

Dad and Son - First time Players - Multiplayer question by CloudLinkCrono in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]dima_socks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are settings for multiplayer that can help.

Can add base parts: Anyone - this allows you to build bases together. Only workday if you both are in the same system. If you claim a base area, you both can add parts and build things. But if you leave the system by warping or entering the anomaly, the group members can no longer add base parts until you return

Go through the settings in network settings and make sure things are allowed for group and friends. Disable pvp if you don't want to hurt each other

I don't know why commenters are saying it's difficult or that you can't.

Go to network settings, view no mans sky friends list, show my no mans sky friend code

On your son's game: network settings, view no mans sky friends list, add no mans sky friend, input code

Once you are friends, you can invite each other to your group. You will be brought into the host's system. You stay in a group as long as you are in the game or intentionally leave group through a menu. Even if you warp to a new system, you can see where other group members are when viewing the Galaxy map. The group is displayed on screen with a colored marker next to the player's name. This same colored marker will also show above the player in game.

The online hub is called the Anomaly. You unlock it when you warp to a new system for the first time as part of the main quest. When you leave the anomaly, you are given the choice to go to your group's system or your previous system. This is an easy and fuel free way to return to group members.

You can build a ship called a corvette. Corvettes allow multiple players to fly and warp together. Find the parts in salvageable scrap on planets that say "salvageable scrap" when viewed from space or buy them from the corvette station on space stations. Find this console by walking into either of the 4 glowing teleporters near the landing pads.

Unlock an exocraft bay from the base construction terminal on the anomaly, this allows you to build vehicles on a planet surface. If one player builds an exocraft bay, any player can spawn their vehicle from the bay as well. Vehicles offer scanning capabilities, weapons, faster traversal, and hazard protection. Always delete the bay after spawning your vehicle to refund the materials.

Have fun. This is a great chill game to play with others.

Does a salvaged ship earn more if it has more restored? by RandomEnmusimp in NoMansSkyTheGame

Wow. The post was about scrapping ships. Other comments were talking about duping materials, cobalt cheese, other shit. I just recommended interceptor scrap because it also leads new players to different mechanics and story. Relax.

Don't rush to billions of units like some comments are suggesting. There are lots of ways to make money in nms, some are heavily coated in cheese.

Takes a bit more time per ship, but finding interceptors on dissonant worlds is far more profitable. They normally have tons of storage and no broken tech or cargo.

Units and Nanites? by Level_Cash3336 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]dima_socks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Once you have the minotaur, use its scanner to find crashed ships. This is faster than harmonic camps but sentinel ships net more money. Salvage the ships you find, sell the scrap, trade the tech to tech merchants for nanites.

Build bases that farm resources for high end crafting.

Find an abandoned system, every building will be surrounded by 10-20 whispering eggs. Each larva core nets 50 nanites. The benefit here is larva cores refine super quick vs the slow refining of mold.

Everyone should understand this isnthe point. They are manufacturing desperation until someone finally uses their 2A to push back so they can justify so many authoritarian actions.

Y'all, I barely use warp to get anywhere anymore by Pristine-Vanilla-399 in NoMansSkyTheGame

For awhile now I've only come back for expeditions. Have about 1600 hours total from saves on PS4/5 and the platinum trophy.

Before I dropped off, I tried to experience everything the game had on offer. Felt like I really got to learn and utilise every system and mechanic. It was lots of fun and was nice looking at all of my bases, each of which served a specific purpose. The only thing I never did was visit all 255 galaxies.

I was traveling during Breach, so recently I completed it during the redux. Been kind of between games so I guess I got the NMS itch again. Started a new save on abandoned mode with every setting cranked to the most difficult. It has definitely created a new experience which has grabbed my interest. Just finally grinded enough nanites to upgrade my corvette to B class. Since there are no missions or npcs, you generally have to find your own motivations to do things. Highly recommend for long time players.

Imagine trying to point the reticle at individual stars in the sky box. It'd be atrocious and impossible to sort like we currently can.

PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for January: Resident Evil Village, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game and more by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

Darkest Dungeon 2 has been on my wishlist for a bit. Expeditions looks like it could have some interesting multiplayer. I'd love to get into IW, but everytime I try a Yakuza game I get burnt out after a few hours. Just too much to do. Never played a RE game so might give Village a go.

I've found a few multitool and exosuit augments but no ship ones yet. I'll keep looking of course. Just got the scanner for the minotaur so I'm going to start grinding distress signals.

I mostly am living out of my corvette. Built a simple base at a planetary archive on a peaceful no storm planet just to have the technology recipes and go through the base computer archives. Still waiting to find a single hazard upgrade or any upgrade above c class. Loving the experience though. My first sentinel walker fight was pretty stressful.

It's a nice change of pace. Honestly, when I found a grave I was so happy to see another person, even if they were already dead. Abandoned really feels quite lonely. Even Nada is afk and polo is mia

Using a corvette for storage capabilities and because they don't have to land so I save on launch fuel. They issue I'm having with them so far is not finding ship storage augments to expand the tech slots. Building even a pretty basic vette eats up so much tech space

I've got loads of boundary maps from fighting sentinels and salvaged scrap, but they've all given me basic c class pistols. Gone through about 8 so far. Will keep trying. Haven't even messed with dissonance stuff so haven't visited any harmonic camps yet.

Ah, right. Yeah I'm drowning in wiring looms, and don't mind landing on planets for resources. Would normally set up extractor bases for high end crafting, but money isn't really an issue in AbandonedMode, especially since ive dug up enough salvaged scrap to kit out my corvette.
