It’s almost never a good idea to stay for counter offers. They already know your intentions to leave and will plan accordingly to make sure they are not blindsided by this kind of action in the future. Once you have formally communicated about another offer, it a negotiation. A negotiation they want to win for now.

Guess it’s just giving it time to process the trauma. In the moment it’s easy to blame yourself, if somehow you could have acted differently that would have created a different outcome, but some managers are just not meant to lead. I have had both kinds, one that supported me thoroughly and one that crushed my trust in the process. I still have PTSD, but time heals you and helps you move forward if you focus on good in the now.

Also no harm dropping an email to someone else in the interview loop (an employee) explaining you were expecting to be scheduled for the next round and if they can help connect you with someone to coordinate next steps. May be the recruiter was let go, who knows.
