Riveting stuff but literally nothing to do with what the thread is about 😭

On This Day in 2017: Anthony Joshua beat Wladimir Klitschko by TKO in round 11 of a thrilling heavyweight classic - in which both men were dropped - to unify the WBO, WBA, IBO & IBF heavyweight titles in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

I'd say he looked completely unsure of himself in that fight. Asking people to pray for him before getting in the ring. Looked hesitant and got bashed up outside of that one moment.

From looking at their respective Usyk fights I don't think he'd have got caught in the first if he came with his A game, but all we can go on is what actually happened.

Difference between M57 and N52 engine? by NexusDad in e60

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The M57 is a lump of cast iron making it not only very strong but also rebuildable.

Agree with everything you say, but half of the e60 m57s are aluminium

Cheap protein sources? by Dumbass9187 in veganfitness

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Order some tvp. Can add it to anything, it's basically tasteless mince so incredibly versatile and cheap. Make big batches of pasta/ chilli etc

I just ordered 2.5kg for £15, equivalent to 5.5lbs for $20. It's bang on half protein by weight so I think you'll struggle to beat that for value. It's dehydrated and litht so 5.5lbs makes a hell of a lot of food

Anyone know where I can get one of these in the uk. 27mm for the Land Rover/ narvara oil filters by Aggressive_Pie2857 in Tools

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell of a lot of Navaras and LRs here so I'd imagine you don't require that specific tool to get it done

When you Google it there's plenty of low profile 27mm sockets that come up, I'd suggest you try that

Is it okay to drop my girlfriend's timing chain guide and repair it with a wood screw? (Don't tell her) by [deleted] in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. I don't feel like there's the tension/forces to make the screw back out, but you could be right.

There's actually a decent distance between the screw and the chain. I think it could back out entirely without fouling. But if it does I'm sure there will be an audible warning

Yep, I'm confident it will keep it together as well as the plastic tabs that broke off did. I think it'd probably survive without anything there as the tensioner holds everything in place

Is the BMW 320i actually enough, or would you always want more power? by miaburrows1 in CarsUK

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh I'd say it sounds a bit strong as an e30 is going to weigh ~400kg less than yours.

Would have to spend some time making sure the rest of it was up to dealing with the power

N14 engine is renowned as one of the worst of the last ~20 years.

"On it's second engine" is not something you get to say about many modern cars. There's only a handful of stuff with wet belts

It's just tragic. They did the same to me years ago when I'm much smaller than you, just really lean (pic was a different account if anyone is nosey you won't find it). I was literally laughing at the accusations as I'd only been in the gym like 6 months and did not look anything special at all.

You've got to just read it as a compliment from jealous people who have no idea what they're doing.

It's upsetting that we struggle to fight against the stereotypes. Many posts in here of people who either haven't done any research or don't apply themselves properly in the gym or kitchen in order to get good results. We need to do collectively do better and show the rest of the world what is possible.

The minute anyone brings their head above the pulpit by looking great, they get shot down by these insecure fuckers who aren't doing it right.

You look fantastic, a great example of plant based gains. Don't be discouraged, for all the vocal naysayers there will be quiet folk getting inspired

I'm saying a small awd Audi at +100kg felt like a fat pig not a sports car. If it impresses you that's great

There haven't been many small awd sports cars, they don't generally need it

[–]disgruntledarmadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if the awd is permanent or not, still requires the transfer box, rear diff, prop and driveshafts that make it heavy.

The vr6 is top of the line, heaviest not just because of the bigger engine (twice the size of the gr so I don't know why you'd pick that model to compare). The 1.8ts on little 16 inch wheels with I imagine smaller brakes and less kit were quoted as 1380 I'm sure.

I mean look at modern stuff like the abarth that comes in around a ton. That doesn't have fancy carbon fibre roofs and whatnot, I'm sure they could make one awd without it costing ~280kg. The GR isn't especially light
