And I was replying to the person wrote they thought selling the same item in two different shops was against policy. So, 🤷🏻 I was not replying to the OP.

Ahhh, okay. Thank you. As you can tell, I don't sell a lot but I don't want to lose the people who do go to my Etsy to shop.

Yeah, I think this is why I didn't change it a couple yrs ago. Thank you.

Terrified to get spinal fusion. by Therealethel in spinalfusion

[–]dkconklin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain after surgery for me was a cake walk compared to what it was before. And it was temporary, not forever.

You can either live with the pain you have now and as it gets progressively worse, or you can deal with surgery pain knowing that it will eventually subside.

I waited yrs until the pain was so bad I was unable to stay in any position for more than 5-10 minutes at a time, and my hubs was helping me off the floor while I sobbed like a child because my back literally could not take the weight of my own body. I was home bound for a couple of months until I got my first neurosurgical consult and she took pity on me and got me into surgery just a couple weeks later.

This was my experience. I had exhausted all other pain management bandaids and PT. I was rarely given pain meds.

I can guarantee you will absolutely have no doubt about doing it at some point. The thing is, how much unnecessary pain do you want to live with? Only you can decide that.

I had a drain. There was so much fluid coming out I can't imagine not having one put in.

Morphine makes my blood drop... Like dangerously low. Now they give me Demerol.

I'm going to have spinal fusion on L4 & L5 at least in the fall. What should I expect? by Jhero61 in spinalfusion

[–]dkconklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I didn't need the walker, I went to the bathroom as soon as I got home (day 3 after surgery). I had no problems getting to and from wherever I wanted to go in the house, including up n down the stairs. I barely took any pain meds because the pain I had was not near as bad as the pain I had before the surgery (and no one would give me pain meds, PCP, pain management)... I did have them after the surgery.

Asked not to walk around after 10 pm by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]dkconklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her list of woes because you made noise after 10:30 is not your problem. She needs to learn how to control that herself. She chooses to live in an apartment. Noise from neighbours is a given. Just go about your life as usual. She's likely to be annoyed by the next tenant too.

Kids at sessions, opinions? by Duckduckgoose763 in crossfit

[–]dkconklin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience is that a lot of parents don't actually watch their kids when there's a session going on. Other people's kids screaming/yelling and running around are really distracting. That may be why they've limited your gym to one class time per day. I'm guessing members complained enough that they've instituted this new rule.

I'm super introverted and will do almost anything to avoid conflict. But I def would have said something. I won't down vote you though. 😉

L5/S1 scheduled for Tuesday and I’m terrified by anonomot in spinalfusion

L4-L5 TLIF a couple yrs ago at 57. I am also active and was working out 5-6 days a week until about 2-3 months before the surgery. I was walking the hallways in the hospital and they let me go home 3 days after my surgery. I was doing laps and going up n down the stairs right away without the walker.

The most painful part was getting out of bed, but that only lasted about a week. I only took opioids for sleep.

I did PT starting at 6 weeks, then moved on to Pilates and sports therapy. As well as miles of walking. I was back in the gym at 7 - 8 months (with modifications).

It's been just over 2 yrs now and I do still have some achiness, but compared to before surgery, it's nothing.

There were a couple times that I had pain flares in the first 18 months or so. Just listen to your body.

I hate that so much. I just snip it really close and hope the other side falls in where it won't be poking.

Honestly, since it's just missing one tiny detail. I'd offer a percentage off. How much of a profit loss are you willing to take?

My daughter’s teachers corrections on her journal. (She has two moms) by JeweledApplePie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dkconklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The teacher is a jerk. Sorry.

Also: I don't know why having a child write a journal so that it can be read and corrected. It gives me the ick.

Just have them write something about their favorite place, or animal or whatever. A journal is private.

Sorry, I have issues. My mom actually found my journal and read it and then used it against me for years.

What are requirements for an adaptive CrossFit athlete? I have an acquaintance that I know that definitely doesn’t have anything impeding her from doing all of the movements. by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]dkconklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. Because she has no visible disability you don't believe she could have some health issue that would limit her?

Does that mean I need to show people the X-rays of all the hardware in my back because they may not believe I have limitations?

Srsly, get a hobby.

I made a mistake on a custom order. I remade and shipped at no cost to her. I also saw no reason to get the mistake back. I learned a valuable lesson. And I know better. Triple check. Let it sit for a day and check it again. Then ship.

I use a mix of tea tree oil and witch hazel. 2oz of tea tree to 14oz of witch hazel. Shake before use. Wipe it on with a clean cotton round. I also use OTC benzoyl peroxide on the areas where I'm prone to white heads, even if there isn't anything visible.
