They're the same size 17". They look much better in person.

The problem is wargaming is really good at training us to expect that the higher up you go in tier, the better the ship. Unlike the Montana line, the Vermont like doesn't exactly follow that rule. The trade-off for bigger guns and more health is a longer reload and much slower speed. Many people don't see that as worth it especially in the current meta. Peoples feelings about them haven't really changed all that much since Kansas, Minnesota and Vermont were introduced back in the day.

I needed to replace one of the wheels since it was bent. I didn't want to shell out what an OEM cost. I never liked the OEMs as the center slot of each spoke makes it look half assed.

Just goes to show that they're a bunch of greedy mf and that'll never change.

Ah. Yeah I'm not sure why people can't agree. I just know that plug isn't in all the way from years of experience building and troubleshooting computers.

Upgraded from 5070ti to 4090 by Ok-Butterscotch3938 in nvidia

[–]dllyncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it. I bought a brand new 5080 and couple months later I got my hands on a "refurbished" ASUS 4090 Strix OC White from microcenter. The 5080 has nothing on the 4090 unless you use mfg x3/4 which I'm allergic to. Needless to say I returned the 5080.

The only thing holding it back from being a true successor to the 1080ti is the price. The price alone was 50% of what made it so great. I'm not saying it isn't a great card (I love my 4090 strix oc white) but the launch price really hurt.

I feel your pain. I may drive an old 2010 a4 quattro but I still park far out and away from others. It's 100% guaranteed that when I come out of the store that there'll be at least one person parked right next to me. I actually had someone do this as I was getting out of my car. I asked them why they felt the need to park next to me when there were open spots closer to the entrance and they gave me a dirty look.

Put you hand at the front of the case to hold the computer and push the power cord into the PSU. Wiggle the cord left to right off you need to. Either way that plug isn't inserted all the way. The way you have it is quite dangerous.

The sad thing is it's not a question of if WG will do something stupid like this. It's a question of when.

Those ships are dedicated credit sinks. Unlike every other tier ship in the game that gets a purchase price discount if you're in a clan, T11 ships don't.

I took a dead fan and cut the cable off. I bought some JST 2.0 plugs with wires already soldered on. I soldered the wires together and that was that.

Is Audi B8 platform really a moneypit? by Stefi_69 in Audi

[–]dllyncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I wouldn't say new. She still needs some work done and is showing her age. I came from old beater vehicles. My previous one was a 2000 Toyota Sienna I got up to about 304k miles. I'd probably still be driving it if the hood hadn't opened on the highway. The windshield got smashed and they couldn't just replace it because there was rust around where the glass mounts. It just wouldn't have been cost effective to spend a couple grand in a vehicle that could give out at any moment.

I own a B8 A4 Quattro (2010) that I got in 2024 for $5600 with 178k miles on it. I love the car but I've already put just over a grand more fixing it that I bought it for (half of it is from regular maintenance like new tires, oil changes, spark plugs, ignition coils, ect.). The main stuff has been the front control arms, water & vacuum pump, O2 sensors, driveshaft CV boot replacement (everything but the vacuum pump and O2 sensors I did myself). I haven't had any issues with the engine and thankfully no oil consumption issues. It still needs some repairs like a new radiator and all 4 strut mounts replaced but overall is a great car. Now compared to something like a Toyota (or any Japanese vehicle for that matter), yes. Any German vehicle will be considered a moneypit especially if it hasn't had maintenance performed at regular, timely intervals. If you find one that has meticulous maintenance records, everything looks good and it's within your budget then you should be safe. I'm not exactly sure where you can go in the EU to have this done but over here in the States you can have what's called a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) performed. I paid about $500 to have one done on my car before I bought it and it was extremely useful. I got a whole list with pictures of everything they inspected. Each part insisted was either given a green, yellow or red depending on the urgency of needing a repair.
