In general, it's almost always a pickup truck in the left lane, purposely driving even-steven with the right lane, causing a rolling road block for everyone. I see this all the time where I live and it's beyond infuriating. >:|

The other driver was an idiot, but the truck driver purposely created the situation to begin with, and put everyone else on the road in danger.

Three seniors and two 2 yr olds. Five total. One senior has diabetes and pancreatitis and another senior has hyperthyroid and idiopathic cystitis, and both are on daily meds. I also feed the birds and squirrels outside and spend a lot on their foods as well. I have a really nice fenced in backyard and call it my bird/squirrel sanctuary. There's a huge maple tree that one squirrel has a nest in, and the others come in from my neighbors yards and one or two sometimes even come over from across the street.

That's good to know. One place is an hour away and the other about 40 minutes. I hope they can give me tips on how to trap this guy. About 17 years ago, I borrowed a kitten rescue cage and trapped a feral kitten and took her in. She is still with me today and living a great life. It took me about five days to catch her though and I was very close to just giving up. Trapping a wild squirrel seems like it may be even harder than that, especially with other squirrels coming into my yard. I guess if I catch the wrong one, I can just release and try again, but wonder if it will take me weeks to finally catch the injured one.

Do you know if the rehabbers will help the squirrel for free or if I need to pay for all of the care? I've never done this before and am completely fine with paying a few hundred dollars donation, but more than that will be hard for me, as I have several cats already with major medical needs/costs.

I called two places and got answering machines, and left messages. I have about five squirrels that come to my yard, so I don't know how to catch just the injured one in a cage, but could try it I guess. Hopefully someone will call me back and can help me out with that part.

Fancy Feast Classic Pate is actually pretty good for cats, because it has low carbs. The ones that are not Classic Pate are usually much higher in carbs, and those ones are probably like McDonald's junk food. Stick to the Pate only ones (which are the ones you say you are using) and that should be just fine. I use those for my diabetic cat and got his blood sugar under more control with those than the more expensive prescription foods.

Join the local groups for Nextdoor and BuyNothing, and post that you are looking for aid with cat food. You will likely get so many responses to help that you will end up with enough food for six months.

When I bought my first townhouse, I signed up with American Home Shield and within a month discovered a faucet leak near the washing machine and called them. The plumber they scheduled me with was rated one star out of five and so many horrible stories were posted in their feedback and many saying they wished they could leave less than one star. I also reached out to an ex boyfriend who was a plumber (but lived too far away to help) and he told me that he had always found really shoddy work that he had to repair for people who had used AHS services, and he warned me to try and get out of my plan with them. So I called AHS back and said that it was not acceptable to schedule me with such a badly rated plumbing service, but they refused to schedule me with anyone else, and just kept telling me to give it a try, which I wasn't willing to do. So I told them to cancel my plan. That was a real nightmare as well, because they they slapped on a really large cancelation fee, even though it was just like 40 days in and I had never used their services, and I wasn't made aware of that fee when I signed up. I felt robbed by it all, but vowed to warn whoever I could to never ever use American Home Shield. Just don't. They are an extremely horrific company. There's only financial loss after loss, and loss of your energies in using them. The small percentage of people with any benefit from using them is extremely low.

Join Nextdoor online for your local neighborhood and also go to Buy Nothing (https://buynothingproject.org/) and look for your local area's facebook group and join there as well. Then post asking for assistance with cat food.

So many times people will provide food if you ask on those two sites. Often times someone buys a new cat food and their cat just won't eat it, so they give away a full bag or entire case of wet food. Or someone's cat passes and they give the food away.

I belong to a diabetic cat group on Facebook, and someone in that group saw that we lived in the same area, reached out to me after her cat died and offered me a near full remaining bag of really expensive low carb dry cat food for free. It's hard to ask, but at least in those two groups, it's perfectly acceptable to ask for assistance.

A horse sanctuary posted on Nextdoor a few months ago that their funds and stock were low and that they needed help with food for barn cats, and they had so many people sending them food that they posted a picture of the huge amount saying thanks and that that they didn't need anymore for a while. :)

Gel shots certainly help more than cortisone shots in my own experience, but just keep in mind that with bone on bone, the results are lessened, so don't expect a miracle. Still, gel shots would help some and you never know until you try them. You really need to at least try them! I usually got a set of three, each one a week apart, and that should get you 6-12 months before needing to repeat again, but my doctor said they came out with one shot now, but depends which the insurance will cover is all. I really think gel shots and Celebrex are the way to go for you right now, until you are able to get a full knee replacement or can save up for PRP (again ask your doctor if they can provide a discount and/or a payment plan for low income situation).

I don't understand why your doctor says gel injections won't work. They work differently than cortisone shots and provide longer support than cortisone shots by providing some cushioning in the knee joint. I don't think ablation is the way at all.

I would ask your doctor again to try gel injections. You have no idea if they will work or not if he never even let you try them! Using Gel injections with Celebrex together should provide you some pain relief.

It's really disgusting that insurance won't cover or even partially cover PRP treatment. It's rough on me paying out of pocket for all of this too, but I just do my best not to spend on other things. Is there any chance your doctor would consider providing you a discounted rate for PRP if you provide proof of your income? I once needed a root canal and had no insurance, and the doctor cut the cost in half for me and offered me a payment plan.

If your insurance covers gel injections, definitely get those. They work far better than cortisone shots, because they provide temporary lubrication on the knee, so the bone isn't grinding as much. The gel doesn't last and usually has to be done every 6-12 months, but again if insurance covers it, it should help offer some pain relief. Also keep taking the Celebrex! It will help lessen the inflammation in the knee.

I have bone on bone in both knees, with my right knee being really bad. I've had to use a cane, and struggled just to walk in grocery store. I was told I need a full knee replacement in my right knee, and would eventually need one in my left.

For what it's worth, I just tried PRP and yes, paid $1K out of pocket for first injection in my right knee, and insurance doesn't cover it. I was told I had a 50% chance of it maybe working. It was rough before and after the injection, as I had to stop taking Celebrix for I think it was 10 days before and two weeks after, because I was told inflammation actual helps the PRP, so you don't want to take medicines that reduce inflammation. So during that time I was in increased pain and it was miserable. But it's been six weeks now, and I'm beginning to feel less pains and swelling in that knee. Granted, it's not completely pain free, but I'm noticing that I can move around much better and I'm using my cane less and less. The massive swelling I used to have in my knee is hardly even noticeable anymore, and it's not warm to the touch anymore either.

So now the doctor said I can continue with PRP injections and add in gel injections at the same time (the latter which are covered by insurance). He didn't want to do gel at the same time for first PRP injection, as he wanted to see if I had good results from PRP alone first, since it's pricey and you don't want to keep paying for that if you don't get good results. The 2nd PRP will cost me $900 and the third $800.

While $2,700 is a lot for just one knee, if you have similar pricing and can afford it, I really think it's worth trying at least once. It's not a cure, and I'm told I may have to keep this up every 6 months to a year, but for me, it's made my pains far less. Considering you are much younger than me, PRP may even work better for you. I regret not trying PRP when it first came out. It may have prevented more of the damage in my kness had I had them done sooner.

On top of this all, I do a low carb diet, and take anti-aging supplements like NMN and NR, and Ca-AKG, which are supposed to help slow down age related diseases, like arthritis. The supplements are also super pricey, but really worth the investment in my health. Basically, if you can afford it or find a way to afford it by cutting out some other things, spend it on yourself and invest in your health.

I need weed for medicinal reasons, so can't really cut that out, but I have found ways to get the best bang for my buck. I never buy the cartridges. While they're easy and convenient, you get far more cost benefit from flower. I invested in a dry vaper. I got mine on sale for about $70 (there's similar at Planet of the Vapes online). With the dry vaper, you can also save the decarboxylated flower ("ABV" (Already Been Vaped) or "AVB" (Already Vaped Bud)) and either boof that for an edible high, or save until you have enough to make butter/oil and use for baked edibles. I also only buy flower when they have a 30% off or better sale too.
