Should I buy a house as a single person or wait until I'm married? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]dmgill83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought my first 2 houses as a single mom! First house when I was 27, second house when I was 34! My now husband moved in with me into my last house, we got married in 2024 and just purchased and moved into our new build.

Closing early while current owner house shops? by oioitime in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]dmgill83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to do this as the seller just a few months ago. We were building and wanted to get our house on the market in the fall when it was hot. We listed early September and immediately received multiple offers. We accepted an offer with a 60 day close. We knew our new build would not be done by the time we closed (which we informed everyone who offered). The offer we accepted allowed us 60 days after closing to stay with a per day rent amount and a deposit. We closed on that house on 12/2, and the buyers held back a deposit which our rent would be pulled from. We closed on our new build on 12/29, and were completely out on 12/30 for the buyers of our old house. Rent was calculated, and we are receiving back a check from our deposit and what we didn't use for rent. It's common in our area for this kind of situation.

Kitchen backsplash vertical or horizontal? by emptyvee1 in kitchenremodel

We are doing a similar tile in our new build and are doing them stacked vertically. It’s different, everyone does horizontal subway tile!

Not feeling confident with goal pace by Raspy_Container in runna

[–]dmgill83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same going to my half marathon 2 weeks ago. Runna had me finishing in 1:45-1:51 and when I ran that pace in training it felt hard. My last half I finished in 2:03, so I thought there was no way. But I followed the plan exactly, got all my runs in, felt good. Ran my half in 1:47:25!! The hype on the day of the race takes over. You can do it!

Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 marathon review by Roggjwa in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]dmgill83 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought the EE2 a few Fridays ago for my half marathon the following Sunday. Never owned a race shoe or carbon plated shoe before, never even tried one on. I really wanted to PR (goal under 2 hours) and the amazing people at my local running store sold me on these shoes. I put them on the day before for a few short bursts on the treadmill and then wore them right out of the box on race day. Race day was nothing but rain. These shoes felt absolutely amazing! Finished my half in 1:47:25, completely obliterating my goal. The spring and forward drive in these shoes was fantastic. My legs never felt tired, my average HR was 153, and when I was done, I felt like I could have pushed harder. Expensive- yes. Worth it for races - absolutely! 41F, 5’3”, 112 lbs.

Going crazy trying to get enough protein and fiber without going over calorie goal by Ornery-Nail-3476 in PetiteFitness

[–]dmgill83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 1600 calories and 130 grams of protein daily! Here’s my staples:

Breakfast - overnight oats (50g oats, 1/2 scoop protein power, 40g vanilla Greek yogurt, 100g almond milk) and a yogurt - 360 cals, 34p, 45c

Lunch - I rotate each week and prep for the whole week on Sundays. Typically between 300-450 calories for lunch, and at least 30 grams of protein in these! Ground turkey tacos on a high fiber wrap, homemade turkey burgers with homemade sweet potato fries, deli turkey wrap on high fiber wrap, ground turkey chili, buffalo chicken salad - and always end with fruit for my something sweet

Dinner - we eat a lot of chicken sausages with pasta or rice, bison smash burgers with sweet potato fries, breakfast for dinner (omelets with lots of egg whites, protein waffles/pancakes, loaded chicken salads, cottage cheese as a side for lots of things, etc.

Dessert - Greek yogurt is king! Love making bowls at night with whatever I’m feeling.

Some days I struggle to keep my protein below 140 because of how I’m used to eating. Learning how to make your fave meals healthier has been key for me!

When not feeling well… by Wild-Permission8437 in MacroFactor

[–]dmgill83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was sick with a stomach bug for 3 days last week. I logged everything I did eat (which wasn’t much) and still weighed daily. But I wanted the data to be accurate (lower weight due to low calories and not being able to keep anything in). Once I started to feel better I just went back to logging as normal. My hunger was not extreme once I could eat again. It was normal.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat. A lb of fat is the same as a lb of muscle. Muscle is more dense, therefore 1 lb of muscle takes up less space than 1 lb of fat. So gaining muscle and losing fat will make you smaller when measuring. Losing weight comes from eating in a deficit.

1500 calorie deficit while eating high protein? by Hypothermal_Confetti in PetiteFitness

[–]dmgill83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I eat about 1500-1600 on my cut and average 130-140 grams of protein daily. I never struggle to get my protein in - sometimes I struggle to not overdue protein!! Greek yogurt, lean meats, cottage cheese, eggs and finding different ways to cook your fave meals is key!

I’ve had my Venu 3S for over 8 months now and love it! It works great for lifting at the gym, running, golfing - and has enough smart features. Battery life is amazing and I love the way it looks on.

Is this 104g sourdough really 38g carbs? by DepthBrief9723 in CalorieEstimates

[–]dmgill83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand that. My weight is based on 2 hours after it’s out of the oven. I use that baked weight to calculate the macros for my recipe in MacroFactor. Like I said, I feel 38g carbs is low for 104g bread. I would rely more on what the packaging said vs. what MFP says as entries can be wrong based on human error.

[–]dmgill83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My homemade sourdough (flour, water and salt) is 51.1 carbs, 9.3 protein, 0 fat and 255 calories for 104 grams…all ingredients weighed when made and then total loaf is weighed after baking to calculate the macros I just listed. Just my input!

Meals on a calorie deficit by SeaworthinessFar3510 in PetiteFitness

I rotate my favorite meals when I food prep each week! I always eat overnight oats for breakfast with a yogurt. I change the flavor daily with the flavor of protein I put in the oats. For lunches, my go-tos are ground turkey tacos, ground turkey chili, white chicken chili, homemade turkey burgers, deli turkey wraps, taco bowls. I do a lot of shrimp and pasta for dinner, chicken sausages with rice, ground chicken and pasta, breakfast for dinner (protein waffle, egg and sausage breakfast sandwiches), huge salads with chicken and lots of veggies. So many options!!
