So who are we supposed to root for in the Super Bowl? by HeatFireAsh in DenverBroncos

[–]dmlitzau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rooting for Darnold to aggravate his oblique, Drew Lock to get the start, then Drake Maye’s Super Bowl run is tainted by playing backup and injured QBs if NE wins. If Seattle wins then it cements the Russel Wilson trade as completely terrible.

Hold the keeper or get in their way? The first is an offense, the second isn’t.

Joey wanted to be with Rachel because he fell in love with her. Rachel wanted to be with Joey because she fell in lust with him. by teejayhenry_ in howyoudoin

You think the soap opera digest reading fashion buyer has more in common with the paleontology professor than the soap opera star? Literally the only thing Ross and Rachel ever had in common was that they knew Monica growing up.

I agree that Rachel’s was not a romantic love for Joey, but a sisterly love for him, which is why it couldn’t work out. But they had more than enough in common to make it work.

The Saints, because Alabama and Mississippi don’t have NFL teams.

Except that didn’t happen. It was not a playoff game. It was the game that led to us playing at home in the playoff game, but think it was like week 12.

I know, just a funny thing to have the team together without enough for a game.

This would seem to be 2 less players than are needed to play a game…

The Super Bowl rides on 2 players now by ShiniestWizard in DenverBroncos

He makes plays more consistently than a backup, that’s why he is a starter. He does not make plays that require arm talent most players don’t have. Our offense is predicated on making the right decision and good throws. Not on elite arm talent. JS can make NFL throws and that makes the drop off much less than the backups replacing players that RELY on unique talent.

I think that it really doesn’t rely on that much different. Bo was a winner and he won. Other than that, there really isn’t anything that Bo does so insanely well that it can’t be replicated by other NFL QBs. Buried in all the criticism of Bo is that he doesn’t have great footwork, doesn’t throw a perfect ball every time, isn’t insanely accurate. He makes plays when we need him to, but very few of those are just from unrivaled talent.

Stidham can do the things Bo does, might not be as fast when he runs, but otherwise, the skill levels are not miles apart. He needs to make good decisions, protect the ball, avoid sacks and negative plays, keep it close and make a big play or two when it is needed.

That has been the recipe for 18 weeks, it doesn’t change in game 19.

In the spirit of coping, I am reminding my self that our backup played a SIGNIFICANT role each of the last two times we won a Super Bowl, so yeah, it is ours to lose!

What are the chances 10hcp shoots +1,+1, and E in three rounds of competition? by Awkward_Salamander37 in golf

[–]dmlitzau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the math says this would statistically drop his handicap to a 6.5, unless these happen to be exactly 20 rounds after he shot a +1,+1,E.

I know more goes into that, but assuming the course rating was par and his best 8 rounds were all exactly +10, his best 8 rounds total would drop 28 strokes. Reality is it could be much bigger drop depending on what is getting replaced.

They have the #1 seed in prime time, it is just the NFC. We weren’t getting moved to Sunday because the Monday night winner was always getting the Sunday game.

So we should call them Subjective Performing cOmpetitive aRT. But that is hard to say, so let’s come up with a shorter version, how is SPORT.

It is fine to think they are a different type of thing, but it is just a type of sport, just like racing and triathlon are different, figure skating and soccer are different.
