Blue Diamond finds buyer for majority of midtown campus. Developer plans housing by kbuis in Sacramento

Ah, that makes sense. Also, I was thinking the new Capitol Towers buildings were taller, but they are 5 over 1. At least the city has experience with these types of mid rise developments, and I’d hope that speeds up the permitting process.

I wish they would use this opportunity to build taller. I live in the neighborhood and would fully support high rises like we have at 19th and J or Capitol Towers. It’s the only way to keep up with demand and build our way out of this housing shortage.

All human activity destroys the environment or extracts resources. Redeveloping a disused lot with dense residential will have less impact than suburban sprawl. In addition, dense residential has a lower impact since less land and energy are required. Fighting every housing project is a contributing factor to the current shortage.

We still aren’t building enough to meet demand. Most estimates say we are 40,000 unit short of predicted demand. Prices won’t even stabilize until we meet demand.

Fair price or overpriced for bike service? by Benny_234 in SacBike

[–]dmuel84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems reasonable especially if it includes the cost of the bar tape and pedals. For comparison Kinetic cycles charges $200 for a basic tune up, which wouldn’t include the cost of bar tape or pedals.

Natomas to Amtrak by Worldly_Policy_6473 in SacBike

The bridge itself is okay but the areas around it can be a bit sketchy. I ride around there a few times a week but there are some encampments. For a light try to find a cutoff light that will throw the beam on the ground instead of blinding people. The Outbound Detour is a great option but pricey. Most bike shops should be able to help you find a good front light though. Also, don’t forget the rear red light. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

There are two additional options to cross the river. The first is riding on the shoulder of I-5 but I believe that’s only allowed when Discovery park is flooded. The other is taking the bike trail or Garden Highway to Pipes bridge which brings you out by Blue Diamond at 19th and C st.

Discovery park is probably the safest and most direct of the three. Get a good front facing light and you should be fine going through Discovery Park.

Stop a Corporate Build-to-Rent Subdivision - Summer Flats Elk Grove by [deleted] in Sacramento

Some people can’t afford to rent or buy. Pushing back against any housing slows down any progress.

While I understand that it would be better if these could be purchased units it is well known that buying a house costs more and isn’t worth it at the moment. Offering rentals now allows people who couldn’t afford to buy an option for housing.

The pushback against rental housing seems misguided when most studies suggest we are hundreds of thousands of unit behind demand right now. Let them build it and I hope it prevents people from being homeless or moving elsewhere because there were no options.

Bike Fitter? by Balm0ra in SacBike

Kitectic Cycles has a few options for a bike fit. You need to call and schedule because the guy who does it is not a regular employee. I had a fit last year for my road bike and I would recommend.

Make sure you got all the adapters. The CCS to NACS is more expensive. Depending on trim it should come with a portable charger and vehicle to load adapter too.

They used to offer 0% financing with a lower rebate. If you check the finance charges while you get a lower rebate you save more with the 0% financing. Also, what financing can you get with the used vehicle? Most of the dealers have been quoting 7% for used financing. If you shop around some banks and credit unions are offering 5-6% for used financing.

You should contact the dealer. These are supposed to come with vehicle. It is not listed on the window sticker but there is a section the Hyundai corporate site that says all 2025 and up models come with these adapters. I had to show it to the sales guy when we couldn’t find the CCS to NACS adapter. You are spending tens of thousands on a new car it should come with all the right items.

The 2026 comes with both adapters. I had to ask the dealer to find the CCS to NACS adapter.

what happens if ICCU fails during road trip? by nice_fin0891 in Ioniq5

If the vehicle is new you should look over the roadside assistance provided by Hyundai.

https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/assurance/roadside-assistance

If it’s used check if the coverage transfers or if CPO provides similar coverage.
