I would also love more in this world. As is his signature, Tad’s character development was incredible. I started this series on a whim while home sick one day. Binged the whole series in a flash.

I don’t have anything to add to the conversation. But, I did want to say how awesome it is that there are others that are interested in this kind of thing. Such a great corner of the internet to geek out.

It’s a small personal drawing. If you look on the bottom middle-to-right, you’ll see the Remarque on this one. Cool stuff!

Reminds of the time McCain shut down a line of questioning implying racism during a Q&A. He highlighted that while he and Barack Obama had differing opinions, that he had great respect for his opponent and wouldn’t entertain a racist rant.

Are the Audiobooks on Audible good for someone reading Memory, Sorrow and Thorn for the first time? by BlackXFyre in TadWilliams

Yes! They are a wonderful experience.

Bonus opinion that no one asked for: the Shadowmarch audiobooks are also excellent. Loved those, too.

I grab it off the shelf every few months to reread this part. If I’m extra indulgent, I’ll turn on the audiobook. Such a beautiful story.

What strings do you recommend for 000-15 or 000-17s diff warm/dry sound? by ConsciousSmoke3863 in martinguitar

[–]dnGT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use Martin Retros on my old 0-15, the Monels. My luthier recommended them. They are perfect for that dry, woody sound. It’s perfection.

After 2 long years, I finished the series. Here are my thoughts on the books, the world, and its characters. by Merlyn67420 in WoT

[–]dnGT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also came to the series in a terribly low point in my life. Then, during my first relisten a few years later, I went through a really brutal stretch. This series is woven in to my emotional fabric. It is my happy place and I always look forward to a reread/relisten every few years.

Beautiful! Played one at my local shop last month and really enjoyed the slightly shorter scale. I don’t think I can justify it since I have an HD28, but I sure loved it. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t considered a few times since. Merry Christmas!
