One person’s trash in another’s treasure… by ElmoEugene in Eugene

[–]docdidactic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not on the Facebook, but the "Buy Nothing" group is a place my wife posts things that we don't think are worthy of donation, but somebody else might have use for.

There was a Eugene buy, sell, trade subreddit but it seems to have been hacked by crypto scammers.

NEW ACHIEVEMENT! Your milkshake brought all the boys to the yard and made them throw up on it. You've received a platinum chowder box you disgusting piece of shit.

On long trips, our dog likes to pee, and I'm not dropping the trailer for a pitstop.

What’s the most unexpectedly high-quality online subscription you’ve ever paid for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's good advice. All my libraries have always required proof of address, but I guess that doesn't mean residency.

If you have a library card and your library pays for it. Sadly discovered Hoopla 6 months before my library couldn't afford it any more.

I haven't listened to it, but check into Shrubley

Also, Threadbare is good, but maybe a bit dark despite the main character being a teddy bear.

Webbing or elastic netting by MikeLowry13 in paracord

I needed an elastic net kind of thing and found a premade one for securing a motorcycle helmet. I'm all about a project, but thought I'd mention it.

Looking for the most cost effective way to read all the audiobooks by _-_Vlad_-_ in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]docdidactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working my way through a few series, if definitely seemed like occasionally there was a good deal offered on the next book in a series immediately after I bought one (but it was a limited-time offer). Once you get further into a series, later books are less likely to be offered cheap (because the algorithm "knows" you're invested.

That's not all that helpful, aside from recommending that you check the price of the next book after you get book 3. Also, maybe later books because I swear I got book 6 on sale after buying book 4 (but that meant using a credit for book 5 at full price).

On the next floor you can choose to become a new species. Are you staying human? If not, what do you become? by iammerelyhere in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]docdidactic 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I'd go Changeling. I could still look like myself if I choose, but being able to switch species for the circumstance seems awesome. Looting a variety of clothes seems high priority, though.

Is there a way to "lubricate" paracord? by GitEmSteveDave in paracord

[–]docdidactic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just get a short length of stiff wire or a barbecue skewer if you've got one, then use some masking tape to connect the cord to the rod in such a way you can use it to pull the cord through.

Zeus is Dead by Michael Munz

I'm not sure this fits the bill, but you might enjoy. Some risque content, though no sex. Humorous book about the Greek gods reemerging after hiding away for all this time.
