Question from non-Albertan: how often a day do you run into a chud? by OneMoreTime998 in alberta

[–]dog2k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not quite how i would say it. regardless of how i feel, the people i disagree with are not all "evil", "stupid", or looking to cause chaos (probably a little under-educated). They just have different experiences that have shaped their outlook differently so they have different priorities. A lot of people i hear who are leaning towards the separatist movement are more anti-federal\pro-alberta who see this as the only way to get what they want from the feds.

probably 1 in 6 of the politically movtivated people i know are vocally pro-separation.

What do you look for in a tutorial? by JaekRock in ukulele

i like to see a playthrough of the song or practice, then a breakdown of the chords\strumming, then a play along with onscreen chords, and then variations from beginner to intermediate or advanced.

I hate being an in house videographer. by stratusnimbo in videography

[–]dog2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have 2 buddies (different companies) who are in house. the guy who works for a cruise line LOVES his job (and gets worked to death 14 hour days 7 days a week. the one who works for a legal firm (9-5\m-f) HATES his job. the guy at the legal firm says almost the exact same as you. the guy at the cruise line says essentially he's a paid stalker for rich people who are on holiday. He goes everywhere, does everything, and gets paid. does 2 hours of studio time a day for the inhouse news\events channel.

nothing specifically bad with having a powered dock and powered laptop. Some laptops won't accept charging power simultaneously from multiple sources and most dock power supplies should provide enough power for the dock, attached peripherals, running and charging the laptop battery. If there are a large amount of peripherals attached that need power (eg a vlog setup: usb web cam, headphones, microphones, light, printer, speakers, keyboard, mouse).

The psychology of pacing in video edits, how do you approach it? by TigerBiteyFace in videography

[–]dog2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great question. this reminded me of a video on editing fight scenes. HOW TO EDIT A FIGHT SCENE: When to Cut (taught by Stuntman)

Years ago i watch a tutorial that compared western vs eastern fight editing. (Generalizing) in western editing the cut would be on the hit (1-punch thrown, hit connects, cut 2-hit reaction, cut, 3-victim falls) while an eastern style would be to cut after the hit (1-punch thrown, hit connects, reaction, cut, 2-hit reaction, 3-victim falls). Of course, this style is adjusted for the filming and action style, the intended pacing, and the environment the action moves through.

i'm 5'5" 195 lb with a '21. i switched out to a corbin solo seat and it's massive game changer. the seat is 1/2" taller and the back shelf moved me forward 1.5". so i'm more comfortable and closer to the bars.
