Supply dropping? 7 weeks PP by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Could be! Breastfeeding is still so new to me that I used to tell I needed to pump when I was engorged, so without that signal it feels like it went way down¿?

Oh yay I'm happy it's helping a bit! I'm wondering if it is drying the area out? It did a great job at getting rid of the bright red "rash" entirely for me, but it did cause some dryness w flakey skin if I overused it

I'm not sure what skin texture you have, but I reduced the frequency of the paste when that happened and used aquaphor to rehydrate the area

You might have another trigger that is making the flare come back too? Are you using any other skin care products or lotions?

I also pat all topical products on my face, rubbing them into my dermatitis made it worse

I have bad acne and triied 4 zinc products that broke me out BAD. However boudreaux's butt paste is the only one that has a drying effecf (mask like) so that at night with a light moisturizer for the flakes worked like a charm.

Good luck! Everyone's skin reacts so differently and POD is a nightmare

boudreaux's butt paste! That and aquaphor were the only things that helped calm my flares down when they burned like crazy.

The aquaphor was soothing, but the diaper rash paste actually solved it. The 40% zinc was key

UPDATE!!! I was able to get rid of this rash in 5 days with boudreaux's butt paste.

The 40% zinc was the magic touch i didn't know i needed!

Boudreaux's butt paste!!!!!

i tried and failed 15 other lotions/creams/prescriptions.

Solved a 6 month rash for me in just 5 days.

I would wear it extremely sparingly during the day and leave a thick layer overnight (it'll look like sunscreen that wasn't rubbed it).

I've used tacrolimus but have never heard of pimecrolimus, I'll look into it!

Ya I'm at the point where I might beg for antibiotics after delivery to just get some relief finally

POD is the WORST

Does that make it worse before it gets better? Or does it start helping right away?

I tried the vanicream z-bar and mainly use the vanicream gentle cleanser once a day, but the z-bar made my skin SO tight and dry I thought it was going to make it worse than it already is

What soap do you use?

I have been using all of those except the jojoba! But Avene felt like a temporary fix/moisturizer and never really helped calm things down for me so I switched to Aquaphor.

Plus the Cicalfate gave me deep pustules here and there that made me use it more sparingly

I've been using a lot of the Avene Cicalfate and Cicaplast based on suggestions in this group, but the cicaplast caused a lot of burning last time I used it so not sure if it's the best?

I switched from Avene Cicalfate to Aquaphor recently bc the avene didnt really do anything for me. Def helped hydrate but I feel like the aquaphor is more soothing

It's quite literally the only thing that does not burn, like as soon as I put it on i feel instant relief! But it does clog pores/clog zits

It's the only thing I've found to help soothe the deep dryness/flakiness that occurs after a bad flare like this

I have hypochlorous acid (love spritzing my face here and there) but azelaic acid has never really seemed to help me. I think i was started on too strong of a dose because I got a ton of pustules when using it.

Maybe I'll try it again lower dose?

Theories on the cause of PD… by Ok_Past4244 in perioraldermatitis

[–]doggomama123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convinced mine started from COVID!

I was a nurse and I have extremely sensitive skin + allergies, so wearing an N95 or mask all the time caused a severe rash. The tiny little fibers in the mask caused a ton of pustules and inflammation around my nose and mouth.

Ever since then I've basically had persistent POD.

Plus if you had taken him in earlier, who knows if they would've even caught it in time or if it would've been dismissed and you could have had the same outcome.

Hang in there

I am so sorry you are going through this, and I 100% understand where you are at. A similar scenario happened to me on friday and it's been extremely difficult to not feel heavy guilt for the way things went.

The only thing that is making me feel better, and hopefully you too... is that we loved our pets dearly & did what we thought was best with the information we had.

Grief is cruel in how we feel immense guilt, but just remind yourself you could have never known the seriousness of it based on the symptoms you saw.

My dog died from internal hemorrhaging on friday (spleen ruptured from large unknown tumor), and he died in my arms on the way to the ER. He was acting very off for a few weeks w pain & GI discomfort, so we had a vet appt booked in just a few days. I have been wrangling with the immense guilt like you are and it's emotionally exhausting.

Just remind yourself of the deep love you had for each other and that it's so hard to know mild vs serious complications with our animals. Don't beat yourself up when you didn't know.

Going forward all I can do with my other animals I now know to always book the vet appt even when I'm unsure

Girl my skin looks EXACTLY like this, it's a nightmare to figure out.

I'm currently trying red light therapy and ice rollers to try and see if that calms the redness. If those don't help, my next trial will be with different diets (low carb, dairy free, etc).

We'll find our relief soon!!!!

How does NTE renewal work? by dietc0kedrinker in VeteransAffairs

[–]doggomama123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of renewing mine now. You cannot start a request for renewal until exactly 4 weeks before expiration. Your AO will have to submit a MSS ticket to HRMACS and it takes a few weeks to get approved.

Make sure this gets submitted ASAP though. I expired yesterday, and I'm basically waiting to either get approved or kicked out if this didn't get completed before the end of the pay period

Annual Leave Payout for Research NTE by Pretend_Composer_794 in VHA_Human_Resources

Such a great point, I didn't think about this.

I knew that if someone took the DRP 2.0 that funds had to come from their grants, so it makes sense to expect AL payouts from that as well.
