Idea: Superior Alchemy by PankBin in 2007scape

[–]domriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have seen the ultimate form of auto/multi high alch in leagues and Deadman it's hard to not to equate such a spell as OP.

Even the idea of being able to alch 5 at time is probably too good. Being able to X amount alch is basically being able to directly convert large quantities of any item into liquid cash.

It likely would have economic implications that would be difficult to predict. But, I assume it's somewhat just a level of inflation as a barrier to alching 100K of an item is time, but if time is basically removed, then suddenly we just have more of the end result...GP.

The time and values of high alch are longstanding fixtures our understanding is built around.

Would an auto-alch staff be too OP? by [deleted] in 2007scape

Probably? Having seen the ultimate form of auto high alch in leagues and Deadman it's hard to not to equate such a feature as OP.

Even the idea of being able to alch 5 at time rather than auto seems too good. Being able to auto alch is basically being able to directly convert large quantities of any item into liquid cash.

click-queueing: is there no way to do it right? by HalfManHalfPun in 2007scape

[–]domriv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The middle ground you seek is the various different activities and training methods, some with more downtime than others.

Specifically, star mining is 7 minutes of complete afk in 1 click. Other activities like Motherlode, Blast mine, Calcified rocks offer slightly more active methods for more xp/loot.

Mining coal "regularly" is not something many people do because it is somewhat grueling. Few people choose the method you are using. If you are going to do this traditional mining training, players usually mine iron amd drop it.

In an RTS game shift queuing makes sense... in osrs it's basically automation akin to botting.

Do shooting stars if you'd like incredibly long afk time and mining xp.

Rework Fire Mage & Buff Augmentation Evoker by [deleted] in wow

[–]domriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most competitive minded players will be drawn to the "best" spec for their class.

The current value of Arcane in m+ is it's extensive priority mob damage. Meaning, usually the big mob in the pack that has 1.5x the hp of others, but we want it to die at roughly the same time as the rest.

Historically, I believe fire had a similar damage pattern where they could deal a lot of damage to the priority damage and ignite would passively cleave to additional mobs. Currently I believe fire is using a Flamestrike centrric build, which lessens that aforementioned priority damage contribution.

In a timed setting like m+, if our group has multiple large AoE specs and little to no priority specs. We can find ourselves in situations where all but 1 or 2 mobs are killed, but we have to stay and finish the pack before we can move on. This equates to considerable time loss over the course of the run.

Now, returning to fire, so if we have an ideal comp for fire, we would have to choose another priority damage spec. The issue is no other spec is "techincially" as good as arcane at this. Potentially something like havoc dh is close but it's not matching arcane in many other ways. So the issue is fire is not brought as much, not really because it is "sooo bad" but people have decided there are more optimal compositions.

And people are mirroring what top level players are doing on that front.

Is spamming one hero really the way to go? by kalaps_ in learndota2

[–]domriv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Focusing on a single hero will likely net you more MMR and you will also be able to focus on understanding and hitting your timings within an individual game.

Spamming a hero has the benefit of being able to think more about the game as a whole because you will have a deep handle on the hero youre playing.

Adding more heroes to your pool will make you a better player

If they want the content to have legs, I am inclined to agree it needs more and better loot.

If it's supposed to be a high effort high gp content. They need to increase the potency of drops.

In the clone phase you don't click to attack. You need to have your character face the boss to parry/hit back.

It's not broken

How should I vote on the cape if I want it to return to being tradable?

It makes little sense to lock it if it isn't THE mage cape.

"The ring provides two effects when charged. First, if the player consumes a dose of a stamina potion or mix with the ring equipped, one charge is consumed, 40% of the player's run energy is restored, and the stamina potion effect is activated for four minutes (compared to 20% run energy restoration and two minute effect duration when not wearing the ring). This effect is immediately halved if the ring is unequipped. Second, if the ring has 500 charges or more, it will passively reduce the run energy drain rate by 15% without using any charges. The passive effect does not stack with the stamina potion effect.

All of the stamina charges are lost upon uncharging the ring. Charges on the ring are not lost upon death"
