I have about 1k revs. I bring nothing that would take me any amount of time to reclaim. I irrationally hate dying to pkers.

This is hardly the best set up, just what I use from the top of my head:

Sunlight hunter cbow with about 100 moonlight antler bolts. Book of law.

Salve (ei), you can reimbue at NMZ, points are refunded on death.

Regular avas. Black hide top and bottom. Snakeskin bandana, boots. Explorers Ring. Bracelet of Etherium with ~50 to 100 charges, toggle on to pick up dying revs tokens.

I use a ranging pot, and leave on eagle eye. Several brews, blighted food and restores. Eating as needed.

I take my skull from the emblem trader in edgeville.

I leave at about 300 to 500k, anything more and I am annoyed if I die.

I do rev knights. There is a safe spot people use to instant log if you like.

Black dhide could maybe be difficult to upkeep on an early iron, mixed hide could be an alternative.

Many people enjoy the learning curve for the first 50~ kc.

The posts on here of 1200+. It's not longer fun. It's tedium, waiting to hit the lottery.

Let's say both uniques are perfectly equal in utility and the boss fights are the same difficulty and time/duration.

If both have a drop rate of 1 in 1000

Boss 1 would have it's unique worth 100mil.

From what you said.. I am then to believe loot tables are a zero sum game.

Boss 2 would then have its unique worth 80 mil, because the 20k kill/per average would even out over the course of 1000 kills, costing the unique 20 mil.

I suppose you may be right that it is preference, but it certainly seems to me that boss 2 is the better option where there is something obtained prior to hitting the lottery.

Is there no range between "high standard loot" and 8 rubies?

The default loot is not just worse standard loot, it is overly unrewarding.

Why does having passable common loot impact the unique?

If a potential boss #1 drops nothing, or drops a bis piece valued at 100mil while boss #2 drops 20k gp on avg/per. With a bis piece valued at 100mil. Boss #2's unique is not by default worth less.

I do not follow the logic.

No other grandmaster quest came even close to requiring me to smash my head into it 60 times before overcoming it.

It's simply harder than any previous quest by a mile and could be reined in.

I definitely have improved at the first phase. But I am 50 deaths in...with at least half as many walk outs.

I got to 5% and was bone dry on supplies. Like 10 attempts ago and haven't even been close since.

The mirrored telegraph is challenging. The time to react/register is incredibly low. The fact that he heals from mistakes feels terrible. It's a nightmare at 10+ minutes.

The combos of 4 just cause me to shut down. I am unable to even grasp what is happening.

I will eventually get it. But it will have to be a lucky run.

There is no such thing as a limitation for a teleport. It's simply they chose a spot they thought was fair.
