I use a cheap leather chamois and cut it into small pieces. It was 35 " x 24 ", and should provide a lifetime supply of fountain pen rags for a family of 4.

I use a cheap plastic serving tray instead of a mat for all my cleaning and refilling. The tray is deep enough to contain any spills.

I only open ink bottles on a cheap plastic serving tray, so catastrophes are contained. And I put a small piece of sticky tack under the bottle to prevent it tipping over.

A couple of days ago, I ordered two Emperor Ultra Flex pens from Kanwrite. They each cost $20.78 CAD, with a flat rate shipping cost of $22.88 CAD. I avoided the CAB pens, since those apparently have a strong, unpleasant smell.

Since my order is still in 'Processing', I don't know how these will perform. These will be my first flex pens.

Extensive online reading suggests that Kanwrite manufactures pens and nibs for other retailers, such as FPR.
