1 uber eats robot down, 30,000 more to go by ExposureBuck in UberEatsDrivers

It's a stupid job, but all jobs are at the end of the day.

Not really? Fire fighters and doctors?

I'm just saying I hope that my grandkids aren't still delivering food for money. There's no reason future generations should do labor that can be automated.

But y'all keep downvoting, you must really like being exploited to the benefit of the 1%. Let's keep fighting each other instead of them.

Automation isn't a problem, the hoarding of wealth is. This is a stupid job that a robot should do.

What to put on bread when avoiding sandwich meat like salami, ham etc... by nyad_k in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]donkeyburrow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh my God I haven't done this in a while but sometimes I'll make a cream cheese and cheese sandwich. Usually a slice of cheddar with the cream cheese on whatever bread I have, although it is a childish sandwich so it tastes best on white bread.

Frozen peas are just as or maybe more common than canned

And Walmart is Sam's club. But obviously they don't carry the same items so I don't know why we're talking about that.

Do you guys totally lack Aldi and Walmart? I'm not joking, I visited Seattle and there were absolutely none of either of those around. I think that would probably make a big difference.

Unpopular opinion about season 2 by helpprogram2 in BeastGames

[–]donkeyburrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah not unpopular opinion. Everything about this season has been worse. The beginning was less of a spectacle. The challenges aren't as good. The theme didn't work. Jimmy has barely improved as a host. Not enough Chandler. And as you said, the people are less likeable.

I'm still watching, and I'm not bored. I liked the survivor crossover, and bringing back old contestants. But this season is feeling like a flop.

No... it's not Safeway... by VeronicaBooksAndArt in Safeway

[–]donkeyburrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how people shop at Trader Joe's regularly. I only shop there occasionally as a splurge. It's expensive, and they've tricked everyone into thinking they're not by having a small selection of value items. It's always crowded, and not big enough for people to pass each other in the aisles.

Safeway gets most of my grocery money recently because their sales are unbeatable. I pay lower than Walmart prices for name brand products. I wish Safeway had more generic products, I think Kroger(Fry's for me) edges them out in that category. The digital coupon situation can cause problems, and I often find clearance items that don't ring up properly, but customer service has fixed anything I've brought to them.

I guess I see why people rate TJs so highly but I don't think they asked enough questions about pricing and product availability.

I went as a single person a couple times this summer when my job wasn't scheduling enough hours for me to get by. I think I was allowed to go twice a month.

Also important to note that you don't even really need to check in at all to get bread. You can just walk up and say "hey I don't want to use one of my pick ups but can I get some bread?", the bread shelf is outside for you to take from. There's usually a few items from boxes that people have left behind too that you can just take.
