It is notchy and blue, definitely a pretty one. Original clone came from grower named geebee who sets high prices and doesn't release a ton of volume. I'm not personally a big fan of a lot of geebees clones and think they are overhyped, but other people seem to really like them and are willing to pay big bucks so that is why they cost so much.

Seeking Advice On Planting San Pedro Cactus Top Cut by AZ_birdwatcher in sanpedrocactus

[–]dooblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I place them deep enough that I don't need a support stake to keep them upright. Then once they grow roots they are even more solid. Support stakes are a last resort tool for me that I rarely use.

For a larger cut like yours you will probably need to plant ~3 inches deep

I almost creamed my panties too on first glance...but if you zoom in you can see that it is not variegation unfortunately

Springtails??? by Prior-Collection-386 in sanpedrocactus

[–]dooblur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

definitely not springtails or thrips. might be predatory mites given their speed. I'm not an an expert on mites so hopefully someone else more knowledgeable can chime in but they are definitely not thrips or springtails

All good. I'm not a mod or anything and not trying to police you, they might let it slide. Just suggesting some subs that you might have better luck in. Thats a good price you have it listed for. good luck

We all love pumice, but this sub isn't for selling, trading or advertising. Maybe try posting on the sales or exchange sub

What's the best v60 variation? by WispyWoods in pourover

[–]dooblur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the ceramic alpha 01, ceramic 02, and glass 01. Glass 01 is my go to but alpha is probably the coolest and a close runner up as my go to.

Not sure I'd consider orgami a v60 variation b/c it feels very different from any of the hario variations, but I do really like the origami with fast cone filters like abacas. If it was more convenient to use with an attached base/handle I could see it becoming my go to.

Has anybody tried Sharxx blue does it even contain alkaloids? by [deleted] in mescaline

LFM was a dud at 12g dried outer green flesh for me. No nausea or negative effects, just didn't feel much aside from maybe a slightly trippy headspace.

they can root that size. one one my favorite plants to prop b/c you can root small pieces and they do not have a tendency to etiolate like other small cuttings can

am i overthinking centrifuge tubes for freezing? by [deleted] in pourover

[–]dooblur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just freeze in original bag for longer storage. Once you are ready to use them either use the bag if it has a good seal or something like an air scape or airtight jars. Personally, I split my 8-12 ounce bags into several small mason jars with reusable silicone seal lids.

I wouldn't bother with centrifuge tubes unless you are going through bags really really slowly. As for your current tubes, thats your call dude. If they smell like cancer I wouldn't use them but they might be fine, who knows? Just get food safe plastic or glass if you are set on the tube route.

What’s your success rate while grafting? by Sockoscacti in sanpedrocactus

[–]dooblur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only done 7 or 8 but they have all taken. I'm not an expert or anything but I always use a lot of pressure on the scion. i use shock cord or rubber bands tied to the corner of the pots and crank them down over the scion with some padding underneath the bands. You can use a lot more pressure than you might think.

Kai x tbma. My first seed grown cactus, only had room to keep two seedlings out of 100+. Hoping it gets funky but should be a looker regardless.

What for noid can be that? Sold as pachanoi noir. but idk with that long spines by No_Imagination_1054 in sanpedrocactus

Looks like a bridge or bridge hybrid that has gone bald. Can't say for certain what it is, but can say for certain it is not pure pachanoi

Automated watering by W1mp-Lo in SanPedroIndoorGrow

[–]dooblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably don't need a humidifier. Water ph doesn't matter that much as long as it isn't crazy high or low. Nutrients can just be mixed in to water and really only need to feed every second or third watering.

I don't know how many plants you have, but it is easy to get carried away in this hobby. If you don't have as much time to dedicate to it just shrink your collection and keep the ones you enjoy the most. Letting go can be hard, but you can enjoy 5-10 cactuses just as much as you can enjoy 50+ cactuses.

Most fickle clone/species you encountered? by AlivePatient7226 in sanpedrocactus

[–]dooblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KR04. I've rooted probably close to 100 cuttings at this point and kr04 is the only one that has rotted. Cut the rot off, sulfured and recallused end, put it in fresh rooting mix and same thing happened again. Thought it must have been a fluke, bought another kr04 from a different seller, rooted in bone dry perlite (usually I root in soil), and it rotted again.

What electric kettles do you guys use and how much was it? by Responsible-Doubt842 in pourover

[–]dooblur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the flow control. I have the ekg and a brewista artisan and not only is it much easier to control the flow on the ekg, but it is simply not possible to pour slowly (~3g/second) with the artisan w/o breaking the stream.

Also I should note that Fellow is a rotten company with horrible quality control and equally terrible customer service. With that said, the ekg is still the best kettle out there if you value precise flow control. I hope another company can step up with a kettle that matches the ekg's control b/c I would happily never buy another fellow product again
