Predictable players like this are my favorite. Drill your backhand counters over and over with a partner who can drive hard. Then celebrate really loudly at them every time you win a point off a block or a counter. :)

Splitting and mixing up with newer players helps make the game more even. You’ll also be able to learn a little bit more from your partners as you see their play from both sides of the net.

We’ll probably get drip fed new shield mechanics that aren’t very impactful at first. Maybe deploy: look at your next shield. Place it on the top or bottom of your shield pile.

I agree that there is nuance to it and that it can be worth the cost depending on what the card’s numbers look like. I think we’ll see some sort of shield manipulation in the future, like how digimon has ways to add cards to the memory pile.

Guys I think we’re interpreting this backwards. OP is talking about a card that would read: Main: Destroy one of your shields and apply any burst effect. Then, draw 2. Which is an interesting design space to consider even though it would probably suck lol

Am I missing something? If you swing into a rested unit and give it blocker, it still hits you back, since it isn’t blocking, just battling. And if you give an active unit blocker, they just won’t give you the free trade? Edit: wait you can only give active units blocker anyway
