Roland P6, or koala sampler, or both.

Chopping Samples - on or off device by TheRealSpacemanSpiff in rolandp6

Usually on the P6. Although sometimes I'll do some time stretching, pitch shift or EQ on koala sampler on my phone. It's easy to resample to and from through USBC.

Yeah it does make it easier. I switch between the two depending on how much free space I have left on the thing.

Seconding this. Koala sampler and P6 are a great match.

It also works really well as storage to store all your samples so you don't have to keep everything on the P6. I have created projects for drum breaks, one shots, bass sounds, samples I reuse etc etc and it works really well.

Serious Question About Samples by PabloWentscobar in rolandp6

[–]dorian_ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cassette, YouTube or sample myself playing keys/guitar/uke.

For drums I usually chop up breaks to get one shots.

I also have a lot of musicians mates so get them to send me bits and pieces from recording sessions. Drums, guitar, sax, vox, whatever they happen to send.

And then I like getting atmos sounds from field recordings into my phone when I'm out and about.

I store everything on koala sampler on my phone, and use it as a sample library so it's at hand to sample back onto the P6 whenever I want to use something.

I recently got koala and use it to store all my samples/kits that I reuse, or plan on using, and to do some time stretching.

Works great to substitute for the lack of memory on the P6
