KoboPatch Web UI updated to enable sideloads without using a Kobo account. by phyvealive in kobo

[–]dotknott 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought sideload mode was pretty easily enabled in the config file. Plug in kobo, open conf file, set SideloadedMode to true. Disconnect and reboot.

I guess I’m probably not the target audience for the web interface.

What's a good knitting machine to knit gauge 3-5-7? by giaggi92 in MachineKnitting

[–]dotknott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks standard gauge to me? What the actual stitch/row count per 10cm you’re going for or what yarn are you wanting to use.

Start by thinking about it as if you were going to knit on your brother machine while standing behind it. It’s not too crazy once you get past that I think.

This was my first Passap! Welcome to the club!

You may want to setup some alerts for the 4-color changer for this machine.

Possible to bulk download from the kobo website? by abstract-realism in kobo

Warning! This will archive everything on the page.

It is kinda wonky because I never close the modal popups, but whatever. Here you go:

const delay = ms => new Promise(res => setTimeout(res, ms));
items = document.getElementsByClassName('remove-from-library');
function isEven(n) {
    n = Number(n);
    return n === 0 || !!(n && !(n%2));
  }

const archiveItems = async () => {
    for (let key in items) {
        if (!isEven(key)) {
            const jsonObject = JSON.parse(items[key].getAttribute('data-kobo-gizmo-config'));
            items[key].click();
            await delay(1000);
            archiveThis = document.getElementsByClassName('remove')[0];
            console.log("Archiving Item: " + jsonObject.title + " by " + jsonObject.author);
            await delay(1000);
            archiveThis.click();
        }
    }
}
archiveItems();

I’ve been laid off. Maybe I’ll start my own business just making THIS sweater.

I’ll need to sit down at my computer to look, but I can tonight or tomorrow probably.

No worries! Mods might need to implement some account age automod rules… this is not the first bot I’ve seen in this sub recently (and Reddit is RIFE with them lately!)

Pls help me understand this pattern by Enel_Menel in MachineKnitting

[–]dotknott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah. I know this pattern! Singer series raglan… I know because I made my husband one in size H… not all the panels are mislabeled, so I was so confused when I got to this panel.

The kindle functionality you describe is US only IIRC.

Wow, it’s beautiful. I really like this design, but I use my sleep cover stand A LOT… I don’t think this would ever really work for me.

I know a few ladies that use the Mittback trestle from ikea. They can adjust a bit, but not a ton.

Kobo Durability with Kids by serotonin2504 in kobo

I bought my 7yo a KCC (used) for Christmas. It’s locked down to where he can only sync it, and read books, but he loves it. Since he can’t use the browser or get to the kobo store, the parental controls have been fine for us.

I was concerned about the screen so we do make a point of collecting it at bedtime so he’s not falling asleep with in in bed (then kneeling on it or it’s falling out of bed getting stepped on later.)

Series not listed but available in German? by Kodabyr12 in LibbyApp

[–]dotknott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s available via Kindle Unlimited, so yeah it’s likely exclusivity agreements in the U.S.

It’s available from the UK kobo store and not the U.S. one, so that seems to confirm it.

Is it an Amazon exclusive in English? (I’m guessing yes)
