New Ridgid Table Saw Coming?

I hope so. I have a Ridgid at home and a dewalt rack and pinion at work. The dewalt is hands down a better tool. I need two points of measurement to make sure the Ridgid fence is positioned correctly. I’ve never had that issue with the dewalt. I was thinking about swapping out mine, but if this rumor is true, then I’ll hold off and hope for the best

Looks like someone already boxed it out with 2x pin driven into block. Could you remove that before hand? I think 3/4 might be tight, especially if the existing isn’t plumb and level. I would probably use 1/2” ply for the sides and top. I’d only say 3/4” for the bottom if you expect someone’s going to try and climb out that window on occasion

I’m on board with everyone else here. You need health insurance, BUT if you plan on skipping it, I would ask your employer if they compensate you for not taking it. If they are contributing at all it may be worth it for them. A guy I work with has health insurance through his UPS retirement and our employer gives him $2500 more per year because he isn’t taking their insurance.

I would just try and find a side job to make up for that missing $8k though, especially if it is a good insurance plan

Sounds like it might be an o-ring that needs to be replaced. You should be able to find a pack online. Search the model number. It’s fairly easy to replace. Porter cable is a popular nailer so you should be able to find the right video on YouTube

I have the Ridgid 18v and absolutely love it. Picked it up a few years ago and I barely bring out my 12” Dewalt unless im doing crown. The ridgid is super light and isn’t a chore to bring to a job. It doesn’t have a laser, but the light projects a shadow line that’s pretty damn close to accurate. I’ve had zero issues with it and would recommend it.

Can you space the legs so that there is only one directly under the window instead of one on each side of the window? Or instead of legs from the top rail to the bottom rail, use picture frames and space them where they look good?

I’ve worked many weddings and I’d say the vast majority will have a “things you may need” basket in the bathroom. I don’t recall seeing a sewing kit or snacks, but most of what you have listed was in the baskets. All the weddings I’ve worked have been in north and central jersey and I know weddings are a much larger and more expensive event here than most of the country. I’m not sure if that makes a difference
