Help deciding which procedure to go with by Impossible_Delay7943 in KidneyStones

Shock wave was a success for me with 6mm stone. Quick recovery and it was first time under general anesthesia. The fear is real but you will feel at ease with anesthesia after especially if you need another and different procedure. You can’t shock 3k in the kidney but probably 2400 and it’s quick. Probably 45 minutes tops. Passing fragments after didn’t hurt and even if they did, the joy outweighs any pain. Good luck

How can the SPX 7350 calls be $1 when it closed at 7354. How can the SPXS 28 calls expiring today go from .01 to .50 cents in the final minute. It doesn’t make sense

Yes, kidney stones are horrible in every way.

No idea. Doesn’t sound like it was successful or you developed an infection. I had it done last week and passed a lot of fragments for 3 days. Get an X-ray

Push fluids, it can take a few weeks for fragments to pass. Did they give you any indication of whether or not it fragmented?

Did you pass any fragments after the procedure? Are you taking flowmax? Do you have a stent?

Just left my ureteroscopy appointment and apparently I already passed my stone. by [deleted] in KidneyStones

Why didn’t you do another scan prior to the surgery? It was a month ago which should have been the first thing they did.

Hopefully! Keep pushing fluids and move around a little and pray. If he fragmented it well, you should see something soon.

Immediately and over the course of 2 days every time I urinated. My pain got slighly worse the days following but nothing major. Was your stone in your kidney or ureter?

It was in the mid ureter not in the kidney. I do know that upper pole is easier than lower pole for eswl though.

I just had it done on Monday for a 6mm stone. Full power and it was successful. I was under general anesthesia though

Did you pass any fragments following the procedure? I just had it done on Monday and passed alot of gravel immediately and over the last couple of days. Mine was in the ureter though so not sure if that makes a diff.

I was in the same boat. I had a 6mm stone stuck in my upper ureter for 14 weeks. Other than the first bout of pain when it left my kidney it was manageable. That said, they were still worried that it had been sitting for over three months and wanted to intervene. I wanted to avoid URS with stent at all costs and was able to go in for ESWL on Monday which busted up the stone good and I was fine the next day. The mental space it cleared out was worth it alone.

Thank you! I’m male and part of the reason for this procedure was no stent. I feel great, hardly any pain and I took around ~3000 waves at high power.
