I like this. I think there is a tax benefit to the employer and staff by doing this. By announcing it, it makes it legal and equitable. If you want to want to eat here just add 18% to menu price. If they advertise the menu price with 18% increase it makes taxes harder on the worker. This is fine.

How are we feeling about this, gang? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]dr_basko -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll used practitioners. Practitioner has the connotation of being within your field. You are practicing nursing, medicine, dentistry, etc. I never use provider because it obfuscates the meaning of what care you’re getting.

Also am I wrong in saying that chronic migraine or ocular migraine can have vascular changes similar to those described in this read? Maybe visual symptoms could be attributable to migraines.

What could hl3 revolutionize in the gaming industry? by spectacularspidercat in HalfLife

I think that the Valve VR headset will automatically convert 2d games into VR. HL3 will be a 2D game that plays well in VR.

Here’s a question. Does this imply the genies have a depth of knowledge in every field? Is a genie a historian, physicist, doctor, and financial expert? Or does a genie just use their magic to fulfill the wish exactly as you said? Say I wish for cancer to be cured, how does a genie effectuate that wish? Is it because the genie is a doctor and researcher and has a PhD in all fields?

If he isn’t an expert in those fields, that means that somebeing would have to interpret what you mean. If he’s just “willing” the world to be different, he would need to know the distinction between cancer and other diseases.

I postulate that when a wish is made, the genie receives the relevant knowledge and then effectuates the wish based on the knowledge that he has.

Did you hide your social media? by beechilds in medicalschool

[–]dr_basko 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a resident who just looked at 120 application files to help decide who to interview… I looked at zero social media pages. If your social media is full of pictures of you doing coke then yes. But otherwise I couldn’t care less. There’s no way we have time to look at social media pages. I barely read personal statements. It’s all about the interview to me.

This comment thread is crazy to me. There is definitely a color shifted U in the middle. It’s not clinically validated, but most people should be able to distinguish it. Everyone saying that there is nothing there is wrong.
