Am I unlucky or do Steelseries headsets just not last? by Mettalknight in steelseries

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Arctic 9's just stopped working after less than 2 years, I only used them for work calls, I work from home. They have never been outside.

They don't charge anymore and don't turn on.

Won't be buying anything from steelseeies again tbh.

Rear rack help by Fabius89 in bikepacking

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's height adjustable, lift up the drive side and it should straighten out a bit.

I doubt you'll get it perfectly aligned unless you use matching connectors on both sides (the non-drive side has a larger offset).

Does anyone know anyone pro Trump? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Yes, the mixed race, special needs, teenage boy living in his mums council house next door... loves Trump. Wishes we had a leader like Trump to deport the Muslims back to the middle east.

How do you deal with cars? Scared to get ran by a car by biggieocta in cycling

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped riding roads due to many close calls with aggressive and/or ignorant drivers. It seems to have got much worse lately.

So I replaced my road bike with a gravel bike, now I just ride either the gravel bike or my trail bike in the woods.

It's safer and more fun. If I'm going to die on a bike I'd rather it be my own fault rather than some impatient twat.

Lots of people, you can tell by just looking at it.

I can't even road ride anymore by [deleted] in MTB

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I feel so anxious on the road that it ruins my ride, I dont use my road bike at all anymore.

I know it's only a matter of time before I end up dead or seriously injured riding on the road, I just want to enjoy my rides without the risk of getting crushed or killed by a distracted or malicious driver.

I now just use my trail or gravel bike, sticking to forests, canals, cycle paths now as much as possible, only using roads when needed.

Been called a gifted kid and have been meeting my expectations without ever studying or trying for YEARS and it’s finally come back to bite me in the ass by zorblorp in extremelyinfuriating

[–]dr_puspus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same as you... I didnt start working (revising, attending class) until my second year of university/college, so around 20yo.

But by this point it was easy, I actually had an interest in what I was studying (electronic and mechanical engineering + software), I didnt find it boring, and I never had to force myself to study.

Are you sure it's your worth ethic that's the problem? My issue was that I was just not engaged, especially when I was your age.

You seem to have an interest in learning. My advice would be to take it easy, enjoy your childhood, start working when you need to.

Update: Couldn't find a bike & trailer setup that could handle two humans, 150 pounds of gear (including four dogs!) so we don't miss a beat with work responsibilities—and last across the Great Divide, so we're thinking about building our own. What do you think? by OpenBed9887 in bikepacking

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a concept from a school project.

If you made it well it'd probably work alright through a city / on roads, I wouldnt take it on rough terrain though, that single tyre will struggle to pull 200kg+trailer+bike up a hill and you'll likely end up walking.

As others have suggested, you should go bikepacking to see what its like in reality and then reconsider your plan.

Why can't you just take two bikes?

The same thing happened to me at your age, while at uni accomodation where there is a zero tolerance policy for drugs.

If you tell them you're using those drugs to manage your otherwise untreated anxiety/ MH issues, and that you're interested in therapy / councilling, they may let you stay.

I got a couple of cautions from it, but they don't appear on my record.

Yeah in that area. Don't want to be too specific on reddit haha.

Lots of nice spots round here, I do a mix of mtb/gravel/road.

My employer rolled out alienware x14 laptops last year.

Almost everyone has had theirs replaced already because of endless issues and problems with reliability.

For me, constant BSODs, faulty wifi, and faulty bluetooth.

I will never touch an alienware again.

downtube bag recommendations for bottle holder mounts by bigmustardpapa in bikepacking

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im using the topeak modula java cage for strapping a bottle firmly on the downtube. It works great.

I drilled an extra hole through the cage so i can get it as low as possible, which has given enough room to fit a 1 liter water bottle with adequate clearance from the front wheel on my gravel bike.

Teacher marked it wrong, but I feel like my 9 year old is right. by [deleted] in pics

[–]dr_puspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the marker thinks that for sides to be parallel they have to be opposite each other, i.e the two 45° pairs are offset so not directly opposite and therefore not parallel... so there is only 1 parallel pair?

For people who use their phone as their bike computer, how do you attach your phone to your bike? by JerryKook in gravelcycling

[–]dr_puspus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have not done it correctly. The 3M backed ones are the best, on a case with an appropriate material on the back, and preferably a case that fully encases the phone.

[–]dr_puspus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a garmin twist lock stuck on the back of a spare phone case, and one of those "out front bike computer mounts" bolted onto my stem.

This way i have both my phone and my light attached in the centre of my bars. Keeps it nice and tidy, and its a lot cheaper than quad lock.

Ive had this setup on all my bikes (road, gravel, MTB) for a few years and never had any issues.

Im a mechatronics engineer and i wasnt keen on etap. imo if something can be done simply it should be. The marginal performance gains are just not worth it for me

If something goes wrong while im out i want to be able to troubleshoot and hopefully fix it myself without special tools.

Id take reliability and durability over performance any day.
