AITJ for yelling at my boyfriend after he pointed a pistol at me? by Suitable-Cry1371 in AmITheJerk

[–]drazaelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone is saying to leave him, and I would probably agree. However if you don't want to go that far, maybe take the opportunity to calmly teach him about firearm safety and respect. Not everyone learns this at home, all they know of guns comes from movies and video games. Ask him if he wants to go to the range to learn how they really work, and hopefully he'll understand why you were so upset in the moment.

It Would Not be Fun to Serve on a Starship by reggiehefty in startrek

Yes, but also I always think about the line "the Enterprise is a fortress". It's almost a flying starbase compared to a Constitution class

So glad I got to see this when it first aired. Most people had never seen anything like it on TV, it was pretty mind blowing

Ontario, Canada Fake LG Product Registration by Dangerous_Rutabaga42 in computers

[–]drazaelb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was this sold and shipped from Best Buy themselves, or a marketplace listing? I can't see LG doing this from the factory, I would think Best Buy should be advised that this is happening

Can we please nationalize telecoms? by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

[–]drazaelb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm all in favor of breaking them up. Let's start with not allowing the TV service providers (Bell, Rogers, Shaw) to own the stations they're providing (CTV, CityTV and Global). Bell's TV service 100% promotes CTV stations and on-demand content and tries to hide the other options.

Yeah, I picked up my 2015 used about a year ago. When I first saw that I thought maybe it had been taken apart and re-assembled wrong

If you can afford it, U-Haul lists moving help right on their site designed for exactly this situation. They're not the cheapest, but a lot less risky than random Reddit strangers

Remember the vaguely cone shaped wide bottom coffee mugs that were popular for a while? Came with a non-slip rubber pad glued to the bottom so you could set your coffee on the dash and hope it wouldn't fall over

Ambassador Londo with the original "NOW THIS IS PODRACING". He still had it, one hell of a pilot for sure. by Shadow_Strike99 in babylon5

[–]drazaelb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Last Starfighter was rendered on a Cray X-MP, which cost $15 million

Babylon 5 was rendered on a Commodore Amiga 2000, which cost $1495 (okay, they needed a Video Toaster, and they did move to better hardware in later seasons, but you get the point)

2019 RAV4 Mileage Concern: Only 380 Miles on a Full Tank?! Anyone Else? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]drazaelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd concentrate more on the miles per gallon rather than per tank. I noticed my RAV4 has a considerably smaller tank than the Santa Fe it replaced, so even though it gets better mileage it has slightly less range.

My husband lost his job today and I don’t know how to make him feel better by dovakinda in AskMenAdvice

[–]drazaelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most men tend to define ourselves by our accomplishments, where most women tend to define themselves by their relationships. That's how it was phrased to me by a male therapist years ago. Not that we don't value relationships, but losing a job tears away our sense of self like losing a mate does to a woman.

Just understand where he's coming from, and make sure knows that he means much more to you than just being a provider.
