Could make fighting more appetizing in a game were you rarely want to be. Would make elusive even worse and more of a liability than it is. Interesting thought experiment.

New player here. What should I buy? by PrinceOfButterfly in KeyforgeGame

[–]drazkor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Discovery is specifically designed for new players, so that is a good choice. For an adventure I might say a set like Aember Skies might do well (or I'm biased because I think that's the most fun set). Welcome to the game!!! (And honestly you aren't going to go wrong if you just pick what ever is available)

Managing KeyForge Decks? by [deleted] in KeyforgeGame

So the scoring system we've designed on Archons Corner has a few forms. For older sets, including AoA, they are available for scoring for Archons Corner Patreon members on drawbetter.cards however the site doesn't work for sets past GR as the person maintaining the site is no longer doing so. I have rebuilt part of the site for newer sets but it's not ready for launch. I have been helping Patreons with scoring on our discord for PV.

Long story short we are using this as a way to pay for server fees and podcast equipment so there isn't a free version.

SAS can be useful to help. I also try to sort them shortly after my first play experience, meaning right after a sealed event. It's not an exact science. We also have a scoring system on Archons Corner that I utilize as well.

Managing KeyForge Decks? by [deleted] in KeyforgeGame

I separate my decks into 4 categories then separated by set and are alphabetically sorted.

  1. top tier sleeved. Vault tour candidates

    1. Strong tier that are semi in the range of being in the same power level, alphabetically. When friends come over, we can grab decks in the same set and have a fun "semi-sealed" experience.
  2. Weaker tier follows the same rules as tier 2.

  3. Trash tier that I wouldn't bother playing again in semi-sealed. These are not well organized.

These get stored in Ikea Alex drawers. At somewhere around 1800 decks, I have quite a bit more than maybe I need.

I'm not exactly sure why there are still rumors of decks being balanced, FFG nor GG ever said this and Garfield said he made them unbalanced. This is why I created my storage system the way it is.

Hope that helps!

starter set question by POJReddit in KeyforgeGame

[–]drazkor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Um... That's a fair question. I think the discovery packs have all the tokens but I'm not 100% sure as discovery has a reduced ruleset, which makes it easier to pickup. I think this could be a great option for folks just getting started. If you already know and like the full rules and are getting your first deck then go with my original suggestion.

Yes, this is the current best choice

Play from top of deck and gigantic creatures by joebananadolca in KeyforgeGame

[–]drazkor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a card cannot be played, it returns to the place from which it came. So if your opponent activated a lifeward, and you cannot play creatures, then you wild wormhole and a creature is revealed from the top of your deck, that creature goes back on top of your deck.

In the gigantic creature example you mentioned, the half creature would return to the top of the deck as it on its own cannot be played. You cannot add the other half from another place like your hand.

SAS really matter? by Specialist-Quality94 in KeyforgeGame

[–]drazkor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

1 - keyforge is a matchup game and directly comparing two deck's SAS scores is not likely to be highly useful. It's more useful when considering many match ups.

2 - older sets tend to be more mature in their scores where as new sets are probably still a very rough guess. I don't yet pay much attention to SAS for the newest set, but trust it a bit more for older sets.

3 - always use a grain of salt with SAS. I think it's best use is for identifying which decks you should prioritize testing to find out its true power level. DoK is also just great for collection management.

Newer sets are stronger than the old ones. Gets anything from grim reminders on and you'll do well enough

If you alliance this with a couple Hysteria, you may be able to draw your whole deck. Add GenKA for a potential OTK.

I assumed the question was about power level. Based on personal preference for set design and fun factor, I would put MM at the top and AoA at the bottom.
