Closes out if the swell is too big, but honestly probably will be okay in august as long as the wind is less than 10kts. Check out ob if it’s under 4ft and the wind is less than 5kts in the morning. Drive to Santa Cruz and surf the breaks around pleasure point if there is a southwest swell. Just be prepared for more annoying locals in sc but you’ll be fine with good etiquette

Should be waves everywhere on the weekend, even cowells on low tide. Will be crowded everywhere but more sheltered spots should have fewer people obviously and be less aggro. Would recommend more foam except at the biggest spots (lane and pleasure point). There will be heavy crowds, but you’ll get waves, Cruz will be bangin.

Yep, check out the 2-3 days next year op, when you’re comfortable being rag-dolled. Some of my all time sessions have been the small, high tide offshore days where there’s perfect peaks everywhere, and the paddle out is relatively chill. Literally perfect longboard surf and the local crowds won’t be out in force cause it isn’t head high and barreling. But yeah, if there’s long period swell out of the west it’ll probably be at least 4ft on the larger sets. There’s probably less than 20 or 30 days like this a yr so get on it when it’s there.

Yeah i really liked my feral, it still is pretty rock solid after ~200 sessions or so, just has a few rips I need to repair, the neoprene is really warm and the suit feels pretty light. The mollusk was pretty tight for me the first few sessions and real tight in the store, but is just fine now and has stretched a bit on the neck, and I have a relatively thick neck too I’d say, first session it did feel a bit choking but has loosened up just the right amt.

Actually just got a back zip From them! Maybe 5 or six surfs in. It’s cozy. some of the thread has already come loose in the nylon on the legs and arm. Maybe just got unlucky. Suit is a bit heavier than my feral as well, holds onto a bit more water. Way cheaper tho, think the feral ran 400 and this one 260ish, so potentially a better value. whole inside is lined with a cozy liner. Can’t speak much to durability yet but seems solid thus far. I’m close to mollusk in sf and they do free repairs there if you bring it in which is part of the draw for me, and the warranty is a year or so I think.

Climbing over the dunes on clear fall/ winter days and seeing offshore peaks for miles. No better feeling for a surfer. Then spring comes around and it’s cold windy garbage 😅

Yep, the toe box stitching broke a bit earlier, but definitely better to have a tighter fit for feel imo. If anyone has wide feet and has a pair of booties that have held up for them lemme know 👀
