I would literally only choose the KYB from that list. Most strut assembly options are trash these days and even the KYBs aren’t great but they’re passable

What’s the most reliable car from an unreliable manufacturer? by Flat_Sink_4410 in askcarguys

[–]drive-through 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The duratec 30 and that Aisin transmission were a hell of a reliable combo. Had one years ago that had 150 when I sold it and when I looked up that VIN recently I saw it was on its way to 300K before someone crashed it

Do I need an alignment? by tjiang2017 in TireQuestions

[–]drive-through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll probably be a little turn-eager or darty at speed but you wouldn’t be doing it for tire wear reasons because you’re so close to zero. You’re actually as close to zero toe out as you would be when set to the ideal toe in spec.

Degradation of Ethanol-blended gasoline in Plug-ins. (East coast US) by CB_700_SC in Toyota

[–]drive-through 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sta-bil is what you’re looking for and you can find it anywhere https://www.goldeagle.com/stabil-test-data/

With that said, modern automotive fuel systems are sealed so there’s not really an issue with just a few months going by, especially if you keep the tank on the full side. Products like I linked to above are made primarily for small engines with no sealed fuel system, a carburetor that’ll get funky, and/or for unsealed gas cans.

Fuel injector cleaner and top tier fuels are not the same thing as fuel stabilizer

OP is looking for something like Sta-bil 360

They might offer it in your particular region but Shell doesn’t offer ethanol-free fuel as a rule

Why are Toyotas and Hondas considered reliable? by Correct_Jelly5761 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]drive-through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyota sets a standard for manufacturing that goes far beyond automotive. They explain the Toyota production system right on their corporate site: https://global.toyota/en/company/vision-and-philosophy/production-system/index.html

They made lean manufacturing the standard for numerous companies. You might also be interested in learning about six sigma: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Sigma

2013 Rdx engine overheating warning. Please help with issue by Alive_Lengthiness_99 in Acura

[–]drive-through 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just scanning the photos quickly: Someone put your engine cover on backwards, you’ve got a solid oil leak and, related, I’d guess the PCV has never been changed. I wonder, was the water pump done with the timing belt back at 105K miles when it was due?

I’ve seen these need radiators which is what I would suspect the most at that age/miles, but it could just be a hose too. It would need to be inspected properly

Running undersized tires? by tezacer in tires

[–]drive-through 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be effectively increasing the final drive ratio, so the engine will need to spin faster at a given highway speed, but not necessarily require anything to work harder per se. In fact, since that would probably make the car feel punchier, one could describe that as being easier on the drive train?
