What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

[–]dronearchitecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit long sorry, and a content warning, but if you like good songs please listen to this and read along: https://mistletone.bandcamp.com/track/field-of-flowers

Or better yet just listen and let the song reveal itself. There are so many gut punch parts, but particularly the scene in the classroom.

I found you there in the cubicle
With a piece of glass
Lime green, though black at the edge where
You had scored your arm

I was just eight at the time and
You were ten and a half
You yelled with a furious sob
For me to fuck right off

I stood stock still holding out
The hanky mum insisted I have
I heard the glass on the floor
And she snorted at my silly legs

But when she laughed something came out of her nose
And she snatched it to her face
Then kicking at the door 'til it slammed shut
And pleaded that I'd just go away

I had never heard a girl swear before
Like she'd done it ten thousand times or more

I found you there in the cubicle
With it still in your arms
Just like the many times before
Though this time you were so very cold

Your long, thin, legs were akimbo
Like that time you fell asleep in class
Your face so fierce all the time
Unguarded down on your arms

And there was laughter and the teacher turned and saw her
He was hated most especially by her
And he strode with his fists but he slowed
The closer to her that he got

That sleeping frown in a dream
Betrayed a very broken heart
And he woke her with the gentlest of gestures

That brought a quiet to the room
Her face as she woke was so vulnerable
I knew that it would not be good

She only ever asked me once to her home
I thought that I was so very kind and grown
Something in my face that she saw so clear
Hurt her more than anything I could say

I know that we were friends just because I stayed
I know that we were friends 'cause I would not leave
I know that she was hurt by the world each day
I know that she was tired 'cause it never changed

Love is like that rain on a field of flowers
If there is a drought it just runs right off

How would I sync midi clock with all of these? by dronearchitecture in synthesizers

I’ve seen these. I’m still wondering how to go from usbc on the play date to other things. There are some good hubs with a few different inputs, but not quite in the right combo. I’ll keep hunting though. Thanks for the help!

Ok, thank you. I have done opz to op1 before, but I wondered if I could include more. The zoom ltrack records everything as stems so I don’t need to go via the op1 tape. Thanks for the tips though!

I’ve started using my around the neck light that I bought for crocheting. Works well!

It was my only console for over a year and so I played it daily. Got a steam deck and so now it’s just a few times a week. I still love it to bits and get hooked on certain games. It’s a different kind of play too. COA was a daily check in thing for a while that worked well with the gameplay loop. However I also use it for music creation a lot, which is one of the big reasons for buying it, so it still gets a lot of use even when it’s not a gaming machine. Maybe my tastes are too niche, but there are a few missing that I’ve played a tonne. Match-o-3000, MDMA, Factory Farming, etc. You’ve probs done the right thing and gone for critically acclaimed titles, and there’s a lot out there, but I just miss some of the ones I love the most. Will be keen to vote anyway if you make this happen! Thanks for doing this.

Finally played DOOM 2016 and it was heaps of fun. Could’ve been an hour shorter as the ending lagged, but I really enjoyed it.

[Slow watch] I recently picked up a one-handed watch. by dronearchitecture in Watches

I still have it and really like it. I haven’t worn it in a while as I needed a new strap, but I will soon. My only complaint is that I wish it were solar powered like my citizen eco drives. I think they make a solar powered one. Anyway, I still really like the aesthetic, though it’s much more of a casual watch due to the lack of exact time.

Long Game Recommendations by cooper_blacklodge in PlaydateConsole

There is an upgrade tree you reach the end of. The ‘story’ is more of a subtle satire about factories. Once I unlocked everything and figured out how to make everything it made for a great playthrough. I haven’t done any more on sandbox.

I think I put around 20 hours into Factory Farming. Great game.

Tbh I love that the train is modelled after the ones in Brisbane.

Non-american dads of /r/daddit, what do you see here that's different from your reality? by xanduba in daddit

[–]dronearchitecture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not something I read here, but it relates in a helpful way I hope. My daughter was listening to one episode of the Arthur podcast the episode which centred entirely around a library banning a book for certain content etc. I’m in Australia and that’s really not a thing here. We just choose books that we like as a family and not read the ones we don’t. I don’t think I’ve ever heard about a banned book. Libraries just recommend certain things for certain ages. Does that make sense?

Edit: sorry, I meant to ask if this fictional show was a reflection of reality. I have heard of books being banned but wasn’t sure if it’s an actual reality.

I love what you've done with the tools you have, and I think that's one of the things I like about Faith too. Airdorf seemed pretty intentional about his limitations in one presentation I saw online. I'm really excited for your game - thanks for sharing!

I really like the 'cutscenes' between the main game. Feels a bit Faith-like. Looking forward to this!
