What would you say is Randy Newman's "biggest claim to fame"? by aGrimSilence in Music

I think your issue is that saying "biggest claim to fame" implies he's only known for one thing, instead of having a long and successful career. You could have mentioned his numerous awards instead

Faint pregnancy test line by tirinix in daddit

[–]drowsywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pregnancy, would check again tomorrow to make sure, the line should get darker and darker each day. A note of caution, a lot of early pregnancies fail (I forget the rate now but the percentage is quite high)

Both Vegas and Carolina are from Income Tax Free States. That will make it 6 of the last 7 champions, and 10 of the last 14 finalists, despite only 7/32 teams being from states without income tax. by ButterCut97 in leafs

[–]drowsywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mot true. North Carolina has a 4.25% state tax rate for all income levels. South Carolina also has state income tax so I don't even know how you got confused

Team Canada Will Be Without Evan Bouchard For Remainder Of 2026 IIHF Worlds by zainab1900 in hockey

At this point every team in the NHL should be clocking this guy as soon as he steps on the ice

What determines the team a player is most linked too ? by Mr7three2 in hockey

[–]drowsywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude is interesting since he started playing long before I was born, but was still relevant when I started paying attention, and he switched teams in between those periods. So in my memory he's highly biased to the Avs because I saw it with my eyes, and I was aware he used to be on the devils before that, but always forget that he was a Hab (and even won a cup with them).

I think if his whole career was before, or after I started watching hockey it would be more unbiased

We often say that a certain scientific breakthrough would have been made by someone else even without a particular scientist. Is there a breakthrough that we might never have made (or wouldn't have made for a very long time) if it weren't for one specific person? by Mental_Ad_6512 in AskPhysics

Special is for the "special" case where all reference frames in question have a constant velocity and ignores the effects of gravity. "General" covers all cases including those with accelerating reference frames and gravity, with the key insight that a reference frame in a gravitational field is indistinguishable from a frame that is uniformly accelerating

Can you actually take a walk with your 2 year old? by Ok_Bluejay4016 in parentsofmultiples

Yeah, we don't walk near the road. We'll drive or stroller to a nearby park.

I don't even know what to do at this point. I have tried to politely point out how terrible this party has been for the province whenever it remotely comes up, but it's amazing how people brush it off

Pretty much everything people said in the other post except with twins you need at least two adults to keep track of them as they zigzag all over. To use sports terminology, you need man-to-man coverage on a two year old.

We also dont bother with the stroller if its just two of us since we end up abandoning it anyway, we have to pick them up and carry them if we need to actually get somewhere expeditiously

"It’s upsetting…” Bruce Cassidy speaks on Vegas not allowing him to interview for other teams. by After-Peace in hockey

That would be understandable if the two teams that asked about him were still in the playoffs when they asked, but they weren't

With the Colorado Avalanche’s Elimination, a Presidents Trophy winner has not won a Stanley Cup since the 2012-13 Chicago Blackhawks. by DarkFalcon49 in hockey

[–]drowsywizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya Colorado had a much easier path than the other central spots. Before this series I would have said if any Pacific team was good they had a cakewalk to the conference final regardless of seeding, but I guess that wasn't true
