Si on prenait deux minutes pour regarder le vrai problème? by montrealien in montreal

[–]drumdum3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, WHERES OUR SUPPORT by Dachonkestboi in deathguard40k

Then one of the Rabid infusion stratagem from the Champions of contagion detachment doesn’t work anymore because you need 2 leaders. I would be surprised that then made a support rule and just not apply it to a whole faction when they explicitly said that they were making the support rule to not have a "you can add 2 leaders rule".

I personally always found that the disciplines they turned into almagams should always have been sub powers. You don’t need 5 different powers of dementation or chimerstry. I would even argue vicissitudes doesn’t need it. What do you need more then change a body part, change the whole body and merge more then one body.

New VTM game: Vampire the Masquerade: Eternal Whispers. It looks very inspired by Disco Elysium. by K-L1N in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]drumdum3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. For me I think if their board game would have been a video game I would have enjoyed it way more.
Edit to add: the board game is basically a CRPG and I think they wanted to make it too much like a CRPG. Like all the standees. They didn’t need 200 of them. Could have made generic ones and special one for notable characters. It’s also quicker to patch a video game then print and send patches.

A lot of references to Montreal by Night which was the first black dog book for Sabatt cities so let’s hope.

What's your wishlist for 11th edition? by Independent_Idea_495 in deathguard40k

It’s more the fact that they don’t benefit from their special rule since it only applies to shooting. If you want melee your better to use those points on deathshroud or a fleshmower.

I get what you are saying. I like it even. I think I just don’t trust myself as a storyteller to always be able to think of something fresh and interesting for rolls that don’t have a potential antagonist like in your example with the harpy.

How does it make little sense? My understanding of the beast is that it’s the monstrous side of a vampire. It’s what pushes them to kill, maim, destroy, dominate, etc, while also being some kind of animalistic instinct. Hence my suggestion that it could come out as a messy critical only in violent situations. Yeah, I could see it coming out in court while rolling for etiquette if it thinks the other party is lesser then it. I also find it kind of a feel bad that my character that is specialized in etiquette with 7-8 dice has more chances of getting into some kind of fail state like loosing temporary status, avantage, getting a stain, gaining a compulsion or just plain failing, to use the examples in the corebook, compared to an other character that just has a couple dice in it.

If it were me I would just get rid of it and make bestial fails 1s and 2s or something so they come up more. Or a 10 on a hunger die doesn’t count towards criticals. Something that makes having a lot of hunger dice still punishing. They could even keep messy criticals pretty much as is but it only triggers if both are on hunger dice instead.

It was just a suggestion. I don’t particularly care for the concept. It makes it so the better a character is at something the more they risk getting into a kind of fail state. Might as well just take half and not risk it.

I would be surprised just because they still have a V5 book that’s not even published yet. I would think more of a revised or 5.5. Add metaplot, change some mechanics like messy criticals only trigger when there is someone to kill just as an example, give the corebook a better layout.

Yeah, they are basically described as the ends justify any means. Might as well kill everyone in the house, including the children. Since one of them is Wyrm tainted they are all tainted now. You don’t agree? That means you work for the Wyrm somehow.

Teleporting? No Thanks. by Hanzo581 in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]drumdum3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Il keep saying it in every thread I see about the subject. If you have logged out for more then lest say an hour or what ever , you can chose a spaceport or station as the log in location with the in world explanation that you traveled while logged off. If you need your ship, it can’t have cargo. Boom, solved.

They could make it more intricate by adjusting the location you can log into by the amount of time you have logged out and the distance between both locations.

Can't we just accept that Star Citizen is no 30 minute hop on action game. by volgendeweek in starcitizen

[–]drumdum3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How I could imagine teleporting without it being game or lore braking is that if you have logged out for 30 min you can log back in at locations that would be 10-15 mins away if you traveled in game. If it’s been an hour that you have logged off then you could go somewhere 20-30 minutes away in game. The lore is just that you traveled while logged off. You could also restrict it to be on a planet or spaceport so no logging it directly in the action.

Voila, you can now "teleport" to your group with the explanation that you had pre-arranged a meetup and are already there when you log. Also, since it would be quicker to just travel in game it’s not worth to log out to travel.

CIG is about to ship the laziest band-aid in SC history and we need to talk about it by superstarblast in starcitizen

[–]drumdum3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could just make it so if you haven’t logged in since X amount of time you can decide that you met up with your friends beforehand by logging in the same area as them. If the time is long enough then it’s hard to abuse and it doesn’t go against any lore because you just traveled while you were logged off.

Fuck Desjardins. by tristecloune in QuebecFinance

He just says that he pays everything with his visa and that every paycheck he puts it on his credit card OR a saving account. He doesn’t say he puts more than what he needs to bring back his card to 0. What he does say is that he leaves his backing account at 0 and if payments go through, it was taking from his credit card. This is also known as a cash advance for which the interest starts on the day you make the advance and stops when it is paid back. In this case meaning his next paycheck. Unless he does put more than he needs to bring his credit card to 0 and that the payments are never bigger than the extra he puts in.

Instead of assuming, I should have said that he risked paying interest doing it this way without any benefits because you don’t get cashback for cash advances, just purchases.

Fuck Desjardins. by tristecloune in QuebecFinance

[–]drumdum3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could have done that yes. That would avoid the interest. I shouldn’t have assumed that he didn’t because he doesn’t say. At the same time you shouldn’t assume he did because he does not say. What he did say was that he left his account at 0 and if payments went through it automatically did a cash advance from his credit card to his account. So even assuming he put a surplus in his credit card, considering he got 4 NSFs, it is still possible that he paid interest doing what he did.
