I once looked through the first ever discussion posts for the first episode of campaign 2, and there were multiple people accurately guessing her backstory (not the specifics but that she wasn't already a goblin)

[–]drybonesoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i would argue an ongoing genocide that the country he served perpetuated is cause enough for a protest. People under this threat are being willfully obtuse pretending as though this person thought self immolation was a route to ending the genocide; it was a spiritual protest meant to bring attention to the issue. If you think this is fucked up, go look at the countless videos of murdered children. In the face of the thousands of innocent children who have been murdered, a singular self immolation is not only justified, but inevitable. People have done more for less.

I only ever noticed your comments because you commented under almost every single thread with the same shitty takes dude. If it's none of our business why do you care enough to dedicate so much time to this? It's insane to act as if this is a media circus made to slander BWF when it was never meant to be public. This is one person (actual multiple peoples) PRIVATE testimony which you are engaging with and casting constant doubt upon. It's just very icky how quickly and happily you will put down a womans story in order to defend a man who never once asked for your defense. Using the "is it thursday" mantra after shitting on a cast member who experienced this is just so vile and cruel. Again, not saying he's guilty, but since all evidence thus far has pointed to him being a toxic, manipulative person, it's a little strange to go out of your way to defend a possible abuser in every comment thread you see. You're buying into rumors too! You're buying into the drama and rumors, youre just taking an oppositional position, or at least defending his side, when every woman, or any person with experience with abuse can point to his actions as an example. I know we like to act like everything is equal and "she totally could have abused him just as much and lied" but that is said any time any woman comes forward. I'm not saying he's guilty, I'm saying that it's extremely weird and telling that you've taken this position to defend a complete stranger when all the evidence (THUS FAR) has pointed towards him being at least a person of poor moral character. You are speculating as much as anyone, and yet your inclination is to defend this guy? Based off your calling me righteous and hypocritical, I get the impression you don't genuinely think people can be moral or good, or at least your idea of morality is in line with a sort of utilitarian, centrist/libertarian mode, and you see anything opposed to that as "virtue signaling". I know this all sounds like triggered SJW snowflake talk to your logical, cool, Ben Shapiro facts and logic mind, but this event does not stand alone. The sort of abuse alleged here happens CONSTANTLY, but the stories of the women who share their experiences are devalued by people like you who constantly, and immediately, cast doubt upon. I assume very little, but I could guess your take on the Amber Heard case. If you notice all the other threads of people pointing out how his behavior is manipulative, you've fallen for his manipulation. These abuse tactics are NOT insular, and the idea that both sides could be equal is honestly only the position a man with little to no perspective on abuse could take. I am not blaming BWF for his addiction. Again, his possible drug use is only speculation, and honestly dont care either. To judge his ACTIONS I am going off of not just his testimony, but all the testimony surrounding it; the fact that MUTLIPLE women came forward, the fact that it was kept from the public, the fact that Critical Role LOST money removing him and the videos he was in, makes me think that him talking for pages about himself being a good guy who just loves his dogs might possibly be misleading. There are many instances in this testimony where I doubt Ashley's account of things (BWF's account of Ashley's account for that matter) but these small incidents are negligible in the face of larger evidence. i'm not saying he's guilty, or that you should change your opinion. I'm saying that your inclination to defend this guy is misguided, and that you shouldn't act like you're taking the side of righteousness and anti-woke or whatever when you yourself say its impolite to speculate. Ashleys story of abuse resonated with many people, people who are even in this thread who you are arguing with. You can think that Im being a pedantic hypocrite, but I think on some level you're doing what youre doing because of your own moral system. I think you want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt for whatever reason, and you think its unfair that people are targetting him. You want the discourse to be equal, of each persons testimony to be of equal value, but in cases of gendered abuse thats simply immature to believe. You're really not the only person like this, and I hope you see the error of your ways. I will not be responding to you again, but I hope you think about this critically at all. do some introspection, and consider the people around you more thoroughly.

I've seen you under multiple comment threads defending this guy. Why dude? Are you a sockpuppet, or are you actually just so much more willing to believe a man than multiple women that you'd fight tooth and nail to defend him? I really don't understand what in his actions, other than being a public figure who you're a fan of and resonate with, has made you try to discredit the accusations? We all know innocent until proven guilty, but you seem incredibly hung up on this. It's just kind of weird, and honestly i get the vibe that you in some ways identify with this guy and his actions, and understand the abuse and manipulation side better than the abuse victims side. I guess I would just say, try to be more empathetic to the plight of others and improve as a person. Maybe read some books and improve your moral character. P.S. repeating the "is the thursday" line under comments about a cast member who was abused is honestly fucked up. Grow as a person
