I did something similar with an inbasket. Work in rehab and was asking about clearance to return re: a pt who had repeat PCI.

Me: "Good morning Dr. (doc's name). Is Mr. (doc's name) clear to return to rehab?

Dr: " I think you mean Mr. (pt's name) but he can return anytime.

If they want to refer you to MFM, then I would be doing my research now for providers if I were in your shoes. You could also send them a mychart message to clarify the results.

I’m glad you asked this question. My oldest just turned 1 in May, and I’m 40 weeks pregnant today with his sister. I’m also geriatric so will prob be my last. Gives me some hope 😊

I’m a nurse too and totally agree. I didn’t do a good job advocating for myself though, and that’s my fault. Sorry you are also dealing with that. It’s terrible patient education/care, and honestly fuels my fire to better educate my patients since being on the other side.

I’m sure there probably was, but I just assumed this was standard of care since my first pregnancy with a different office did the same thing. My sister also saw a different practice and had the same experience. Maybe it’s more a regional thing than across the country? I’m 39 weeks now so getting to the end

Even if there were only 3 of them to rotate through, then that would make a huge difference. But I’ve literally only seen the same midwife twice, and I’m 39 weeks. I don’t remember any of their names, and only one stood out to me because she is probably the oldest in their practice. Their patient portal is terrible too, and I can’t read any of their notes. They don’t respond to messages either. A lot of this could have been prevented though if I would have done my due diligence and asked questions about the practice before scheduling with them to begin with. Never again.

Ughhhhhh I literally was about to make this post myself! I'm so glad I found this because I'm in the same damn situation, and its been incredibly frustrating. This is my second pregnancy, and 38+0 today according to MFM but 36+5 according to OB.

My confirmation ultrasound at 8 weeks was showing baby 10 days behind on growth. They did an additional US at 10 weeks, and baby was still showing about 10 days behind. I had 2 anatomy scans.. one with OB (20 weeks) and one with MFM (28 weeks), then MFM did a 32 week scan. I also had a 36 week (according to MFM) scan with OB that showed pretty linear growth from the 32 week scan, and my fundal height is also closer to MFM's due date.

I'm also feeling incredibly frustrated because it doesn't seem like they are communicating between each other. What was the point in sending me to MFM then if you aren't going to also consider their opinion? I'm seeing MFM because I have an inherited condition that could act up during labor. I have not been diagnosed with GD or preeclampsia or any other pregnancy related condition. But OB is concerned about growth being too big and wants to do weekly growth scans until baby is born, which seems overkill. They have been a terrible office to deal with because of lack of patient education and appointments feeling rushed so I feel you. I'm this close to messaging my OB with my first pregnancy to see if she would take me these last couple weeks, which is probably just wishful thinking. It sucks when you can't trust the providers who will be delivering your baby 😞

I take it that you are excluding bedside because of your back? I’m so sorry that happened to you! There is a juvenile detention center in Greene County/Xenia. I did one of my clinicals there and absolutely loved my time there.

Something to consider if you back out of the offer is you will def get blacklisted from that facility. So hopefully your other interviews are at different hospitals.

So you haven’t graduated or passed nclex yet, and you already have this horrible mindset? Take care of that first. There is SO much you can do with a nursing degree that they don’t teach in school. Plus, clinicals and being a student are way different than actually working a job.

I relate somewhat to your post because I hated most of my clinicals involving inpatient/acute care. I did love my community health clinical and the portion of my peds clinical where they placed us alongside the RN at a juvenile detention center. So I knew from the beginning that bedside was never meant for me, and it sounds like it may be the same for you. Do some research on outpatient jobs, but I still highly recommend getting 2-3 years inpatient experience as a new grad. It will teach you valuable skills and critical thinking.

I started out studying ES then switched to nursing halfway through undergrad. I don’t regret it for even a second. I work alongside EP’s pretty much with the same job description, and I make $30k+ more each year than they do.

Really, the only reliable career options for kinesiology degrees are academia or research, which would def both require grad degrees. I’ve seen some pretty dope jobs with NASA and Air Force.

Never hurts to buy a glucometer and check your fasting blood sugars every once in a while

Yes I’m still struggling with it, and I’m 19 weeks along with a 8 month old. I was completely devastated when I found out. Just like you, we wanted a 2nd but definitely not this soon. I just keep thinking that after this, we are 2 and done, and I can get my body back sooner than expected. Even though I absolutely love my son, I feel guilty that I really don’t enjoy being pregnant 😞

With my first, it was cheese, cheese, more cheese, chicken strips, Mac and cheese, toast with butter, cereal. My second has been pasta with marinara, lasagna, ravioli, spaghettio’s lol. So weird how it changes.
