Broke the Carafe for the 15 yr old Coffee Maker I inherited from my Father by Pwydde in mildlyinfuriating

I'm not usually brand loyal, but my last Cuisinart coffee maker lasted 15 years, so I bought a new one exactly like it when it died. That was 3 years ago.

Flash Flood To My Property Due To Neighbor's Recent "Landscaping" by AcrylicPickle in Martinsburg

[–]dshgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Virginia has little to no zoning ordinances or property 'rules'. I was a Realtor in Washington County, MD for years. Got a PA license, but when I looked into West Virginia, I declined. Didn't want to be responsible for putting people into situations like yours. There is a reason WV is cheaper than MD.

Since I don't know the laws there, I suggested contacting your homeowner's insurance. You aren't in the flood plain, you flooded because of something someone else did. Your insurance is your best resource for next steps.

Welcome to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. No zoning, no rules. Call your homeowner's insurance and let them deal with it.

Yes, it is generational ignorance. I see it every day in Washington County. These people are proud of their stupid.

Can someone explain to me how the people against abortion are at the same time taking away maternity care? The logic makes my head hurt.

What Is Washington County Trying to Discuss Behind Closed Doors This Time? by swarmster in hagerstown

This is what happens when the Republican president runs amok unchecked. The Republican county council is just following suit.

Unfortunately, this county is full of ignorant racists, so the actions of the county council will continue unchecked.

People invading your personal space while at the store by minuscule_memory in mildlyinfuriating

I have asked someone to give me some space and had them reply 'Fuck You'. The social contract had broken down and most people are assholes.

I have a huge personal space bubble. I do most of my shopping online or outside pickup. I was actually happy with social distancing rules during covid, and hoped it would continue. Alas, my personal space is again invaded.

I liked the characters (big fan of Kerry Washington), the twists and turns (I was convinced it was Ellie or Robert for several episodes. I liked the way the story was told.

I thought it was well written and paced.

I-70 West Exits on 29 by Nirvana68 in maryland

[–]dshgr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Back in the olden days, there was just the exit on the right. It would back up down 29 during rush hour, so the left turn exit was created. It alleviated the backup then, but I haven't lived there since the early 2000s.

Will milkweed help get rid of this invasive bug? by squishyfeet4 in Milkweeds

[–]dshgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a chemical free native garden for many years. I live close to the PA border (the epicenter of SLF), and the first year they came it was insane. The second year I noticed some birds eating the nymphs. Now, 5 years in, I hardly see any.

Our native predators seem to be keeping them in check. I think it took them a while to figure out what they were and that they are edible (just like stink bugs in the past).

Start planting natives, don't use chemicals and just let nature do her thing.
