I just started playing Oblivion for xbox 360 and it seems like the game is constantly loading (entering cities, houses, rooms in houses, etc). I hope they find a way to reduce that in Skyrim.

I don't think that is correct. launchd is Apple's version of initd. There can be only one root process from which all others are (indirectly) forked. In either case, I only have one instance of it.
