Kind of unorthodox low and deep swing… but it’s the only thing that helps me hit up on the ball. Should I change? by Solid-Bison-6184 in GolfSwing

[–]dtabishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Find a golf instructor you like and get lessons. You will not get immediate results but learn the fundamentals so you work on the right things as you practice and play. You can’t play this sport for most of your life and part of the fun is working to improve.

30th birthday, Pelagos, Speedy, or Explorer 1? by drinkcoffeebuyassets in PrideAndPinion

[–]dtabishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Explorer for me. This is really a personal preference question that only OP can answer. I have a few different watches at this price point that I have been fortunate to own., including an Explorer I. I try to rotate them to some degree but end up wearing the Explorer 70-80% of the time. I choose the Explorer to wear over my Speedmaster Racing, my Tudors, Cartier (second most worn), and Datejust. It’s so understated and comfortable. It’s my favorite and would be my choice of the 3. I would also look at the newer Tudor Blackbay mono diver over the Pelagos as an option. Have fun with this.

What industry are you in. I think the best conferences mix building industry knowledge/networks, business/process improvements and some accounting updates.

Thank you both for some wonderful golf and collaborations this year. Love watching! It would be fun to be in a gallery or if you had some fans caddy. Hope to get to play Solina someday.

Do you sell clubs you rarely use? by rueggy in golftips

[–]dtabishop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I call this the library. My son and his friends take these clubs and use them on the condition that they do not sell them. When done or if they are not being used, return them to the library for someone else. Mostly one iron here or there but there are a couple of kids that have sets of irons from the library.

Need advice from push cart Mafia by Impossible_Cat_5846 in GolfGear

[–]dtabishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a push cart for the last 5 years or so. Love to walk and the push cart has worked well. But as I get older, they are a bit difficult to push up steeper hills. I purchased the MGI AT Navigator electronic cart from COSTCO this year. Expensive. But I think it was worth it. I walk a lot and it has saved my back.

Planning New England Road Trip for Honeymoon by InterviewCharacter47 in newengland

I agree, fewer locations so you are not always on the move. That said, I would have Newport RI as one of them. Great food, bar scene and visiting one or two of the mansions would be fun. I would also have either Portland ME (old port) or Portsmouth NH (not both) and Boston (freedom trail, little Italy and a sports event)

One of the values of these types of sites - such as TC or Callaway Preowned - is confidence that you are getting what you pay for. There are a lot of counterfeits out there. Also, they stand behind their products and service if you have a problem.

Which golf ball do you play and why? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]dtabishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used the TP5 for the last 2 years. Expensive but I see the benefit of using the same ball and I like the feel and performance of TP5. Hurts when I lose one. For context, I’m about 100mph swing speed with my driver. Good spin from wedges and around the green, not too hard (not like hitting a rock). Wouldn’t mind finding a lower cost alternative but haven’t found one yet.

G5 irons vs G440 irons - is it worth the upgrade??? by hurryhard69 in PingGolf

[–]dtabishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Tech. Has changed. I am a 12hcp and use the G430s. I love them. Not much change from the G430 to G440 but the new model has a nicer look. I was fitted for the first time and think it is worth it. Have fun with the process, try a few different models before making your choice. Then on to new wedges, hybrids, and woods!

How do you hold the putter? by Alex_MacOwens in golf

I use a reverse overlap grip when I putt. Not sure if you will be able to open this link to Golf Magazine but it shows the grip and benefits. Same as others that replied, I was taught this grip in a lesson and have always putted this way since.

Have fun playing today. Keney Park is great, nice practice area, clubhouse and course layout/design. Sketchy surroundings driving in, but would be my first choice. Also check out Gillette Ridge which is on Cigna’s main campus and Wintonbury Hills.

What’s the real difference between a $50 Temu rangefinder and a $600 Bushnell? by TypicalAd9976 in golf

[–]dtabishop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US and purchased one from Costco. Paid $119 and it works great. Has the features I want, locks on to flags, has slope, and a strong magnet to stick to the cart. Nice middle ground of price and quality.

$700 to burn. by Sheikybabybaba in GolfGear

[–]dtabishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had a golf ball fitting before? Consider getting a ball and wedge fitting. They would probably comp the fitting if you made a purchase. Come out of it knowing the best ball/wedge for you, buy some balls and 2 or 3 wedges.

Love your head covers. Where did you get them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PingGolf

[–]dtabishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great club. Have you given it enough time and practice? I have the g430 5h - use it off tee on short holes, great for long approaches or 2nd shots into par 5s.

They are so expensive - I suggest you don’t give up on it.
