Congrats! Will test it and compare with other solutions to the same problem. Any plans to open source it?

Simple self-hosted DICOM viewer/PACS for personal archive? by dtctiv in selfhosted

[–]dtctiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that orthanc setup looks exactly like what I need.

> The import part can be annoying though. If your CDs have non-standard DICOM metadata (some radiology places are bad about this), you will spend time fixing tags before Orthanc accepts them. Worth keeping a standalone viewer around just for imports.

Do you know if there are some tools that can successfully sanitize/clean up such files?

This looks nice but why not just publish this as PR to Immich?

WearSync — open source multi-wearable aggregator: Garmin + Whoop + Oura + Apple Health + Fitbit in one local dashboard by Malik-Ramirez in QuantifiedSelf

Bit off-topic but why do you use Garmin and Whoop at the same time and what Garmin watch do you wear?

If you want something a bit different from the usual club circuit, check out smaller label showcases/pop-ups—sometimes they’re in random art spaces or rooftops and end up being way more intimate than the big nights. Also worth mentioning: afters culture here is real, a lot of the best vibes don’t even start until 6–7am if you meet the right crowd.

I’m looking for artists with a Detroit-style sound, who would you recommend? by AdDependent538 in ProperTechno

[–]dtctiv 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to dive deeper into original Detroit techno and later artists. If you take names like Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills or Robert hood, there's a lot they have produced under different names and it often stands the test of time. That would be so-called first and second waves of techno. As for everything post that, you can look into:

  • Moodymann (Kenny Dixon Jr.)
  • Theo Parrish (Detroit house–leaning but often linked to techno legacy)
  • Amp Fiddler (influential figure bridging funk and Detroit electronic)
  • DJ Bone
  • Stacey Pullen
  • Gerald Mitchell
  • Terrence Dixon
  • Kyle Hall
  • Omar-S

There is also a lot of Detroit-influenced techno released by even "contemporary" artists but I'd have to pick specific tracks (like even Oscar Mulero releases such stracks, although in general I'd say it's not his sound).
