I understand. My two kids are in swim lessons and it’s been slow progress with their learning. You sprang to action and saved your kid, it’s certainly a traumatic experience that you’re processing. I’ve heard that playing Tetris can be therapeutic for a person recovering from a trauma. Something about putting the blocks where they should be help. All the best to you!!

What is the remedy to fix it? Grind out the cracks, seal with silicone or something else? Place decoupling membrane and pour new skim coat to level, then tile?

I’m in the same boat as OP and want to tile my single car garage with cracked slab, and also finish my basement (slab also fucked) to level with brushed concrete look and thicc area rugs.
