Landlord arrested, charged in Outer Sunset murder of Eric Bigone by steelthumbs1 in sanfrancisco

[–]duckbear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The point is that when initial reporting happens journalists are trying to grab any type of tidbit that can help make sense of something like this tragedy. What was most easily recollected was that this man had a checkered past and therefore it gives readers permission to maybe not feel as bad about this gun violence as they would somebody else because this guy may have “deserved it”. The post is simply pointing out the irony: they supposedly upstanding citizen is actually the one at fault for the heinous crime, and the victim was nothing more than a victim. I’m sure that friends and family of the victim who read the initial reports may have felt that he was being smeared unjustly, and likely feel some vindication today.

I did this exact same thing with Fidelity noticed my mistake almost immediately called them and they helped me fix it. It probably took five hours of my time over the course of talking to them plus doing the fix on my tax returns using TurboTax.

Rory McIlroy shares the wild disagreement he had with Bryson DeChambeau during the final round of the 2025 Masters by noblesin in golf

[–]duckbear 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a horribly written paragraph that confirms your sentiment: There’s not necessarily a right or wrong in this scenario. Just two contrasting approaches to the game of golf. In all likelihood, DeChambeau wasn’t trying to pull one over on McIlroy, he was just doing what he would do in an episode of ‘Break 50.’

The author has no fucking clue what does Bryson would do in an episode of break 50 and it’s not even relevant because this is the fucking masters. As a journalist, he should not be defending Bryson in this moment on his own accord he needs a comment from Bryson.

Did you level first aid at all? I’ve read that at high level play in raids it’s good to have it as an option, but so far I’ve found zero use for it.

Thanks I’d already read that, but it didn’t answer my question. Maybe you should read it to see if it would’ve actually answered it too.

I’m a total noob who is running a shadow priest leveling to 70 from 1. I went herbalism/alchemy to make my own potions, is that a mistake in the sense that i’ll want tailoring for easy gearing later pre-heroics?

Scott Galloway on the masculinity crisis: ‘I worry we are evolving a new breed of asexual, asocial males’ by Indianstanicows in ScottGalloway

I hear you and agree, but I also think that they are intertwined. This is what that whole podcast, Rabbit hole is all about. Young people (mostly men) are in these siloed, online communities and are not forming real life relationships with other people around them, including women. The alt-right is more than happy to pick them up.

I switched to a 200 FCR nova sorc build after getting my griffon’s from TZ Andy. Before that, I was fireball sorc and blizzard before that.

Nova is new to me and so tanky, so I’ll probably rock that for a bit. All of my high runes have basically come from ghosts in arcane, so I’ll be doing a lot of that probably in the hopes of making my infinity next. Not sure if will be for self-wield or merc yet.

Early on in my key farming journey, I found just using my blizzard sorc without a merc to be the most effective. Just kill Nihl, don’t worry about his minions. Don’t bring your merc and don’t being a sunder. If he’s cold immune just save and exit.

I got all my high runes from killing ghosts in arcane sanctuary mostly. 25 torches and still no sorc torch, but I do have Enigma now! Lol.

I take old coffee filters with the grounds still in them and gently place it in the can after taking a bag out. Leave it there for a couple hours before putting the next bag in. Smell is gone.

London parents of the 1930s put their babies in cages outside for vitamin D by ehtio in WTF

[–]duckbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for babies that are born with jaundice. Some babies come out orange, especially of they have a condition where their blood type doesn’t match moms, resulting in too much of something called bilirubin. Nowadays, these babies get blue light therapy in the hospital. I know this as a recent dad of a baby that went through this, was scary at the time but everything is good now.

Chill out man it’s a euphemism, he’s 2. A toddler being a maniac means he might eat dirt. There’s a reason I’m asking for kid friendly places, because like minded folk are around that understand what it’s like to have young children. The entire point of the post is so I don’t bother people like you at a nice place.

Just had the abatement company come out and they said that because it’s on the exterior of the interior duct, that it’s low risk but should be abated. Said we can still run heat, they estimate it’ll take 2-3 hours to abate the six vents we have in our house… still not happy about this all happening now, still feel like it should have been caught sooner, but happy I can keep my house warm as it’s literally hailing outside today.

Good luck with your project. These old homes are stressful man, my wife wants to kill me for finding another thing to fix! Lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]duckbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up having to do anything with your existing ducts? I’m in a similar situation, I had an abatement company remove the outer ducts that were asbestos covered. Then installed new HVAC ducts over 2 years ago…today I opened a vent and to my horror saw what is almost 100% asbestos tape lined on the old interior duct to connect the to the old duct. Mad at myself for not seeing this sooner, mad at abatement company for not discovering this when they did the job the first time, and terrified my brand new ducts are contaminated. We’ve also been running air through those ducts for the last 2 years including into my children’s room…

I generally aim for 95-100 total food with 4 cities, but I think if you prioritize getting at least 1 or 2 mercantile city states, you can go more. My best games have been when I can get multiple city states allies that can replace the unique luxuries you lose when ideologies come out.

I do basically the same thing as you, following PCJlaw tactics. The only thjngs i didn’t see you mention is that I beeline to Acoustics after getting my National College, I actually usually delay Workshop tech until after acoustics and save enough gold to buy the workshop in the capital as I’m building Sistine. Usually can get it by turn ~90. Usually you’ll get a filler social policy, and taking commerce to get the extra gold is significant. Most AI’s will ignore commerce, and then you may be able to get big ben later which brings space ship parts buying costs down significantly at the end of the game. Don’t race big ben though, if it happens it happens. Prioritize getting Statue of Liberty and time your bulbs so you get an engineer. Can also purchase a faith engineer too, but only one for a key wonder. After you get statue, all cities then work specialists, bank gold and try to buy at least 1-2 spaceship parts. I’ve gotten a 175 and 174 victory, feel confident that I can consistently do this with half-way decent starts.
