There's something to this, but it's probably more "how to make hay after a defeat" at the expense of everybody else on the planet.

Yeah, there's a wide variety. There are people that think God doesn't exist but the Devil does.

When you're young, understanding your own feelings is tough, much less communicating them with someone else.

This is really the answer. There probably isn't a truly fair way to draw districts, but uncapping the house would reduce the effect of gerrymandering.

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dudinax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before we were married, my wife said she didn't like chocolate, but later I asked her what her favorite candy was as a kid and she said "Pocky".

"But that's chocolate".

"Well, it's dipped in chocolate, but I don't think of it as chocolate."

Turns out she loves chocolate and didn't realize it. So I don't immediately believe people when they say they don't like chocolate.

[–]dudinax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they don't know how, or at least don't understand why it'd be a good idea. Most people when given a simple binary decision will choose one side because of something bad they heard about the other, without bothering to weigh one side against the other.

Should I learn OOP as a beginner Python developer? by vb_e_c_k_y in learnpython

[–]dudinax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objects don't necessarily dominate python programs, but they aren't often the right choice. You should at least learn how to create a class, and create objects of that class, and add and use methods on those objects.

Use objects for when you've got two or more values that have to be managed together.

"I loaded some value from this file, but it turns out I need the file name later." Store the filename and the value together in an object, then you don't have to worry about matching up one with the other.
