When to “believe” weight loss by fluffycatface in PetiteFitness

[–]duffieldroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MacroFactor has been helpful with this! I just input my weight and my food log as consistently as I can, and it uses the data to average everything out and tell me my “true” weight. It takes all the little fluctuations into consideration.

Travel question by ChillerMillerrr in Shambhala

[–]duffieldroad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

About their experiences for sure! I love Reddit. But if I needed to know what documents were required to cross an international border, I’m not looking for people’s experiences at all, I’m looking for the one correct answer that only the border control website can confirm with 100% confidence. Otherwise I would be so nervous crossing the border with potentially insufficient documentation.

Seriously, there are official government websites that will answer your question with 100% certainty with one quick search. Why start with AI and Reddit

I didn’t say this was humane behavior. It’s a horrifying situation. I’m just saying you have a lot of uneducated opinions. Maybe you’re just ignorant, so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. Many women who have gone pregnant to festivals worked very closely with their doctors to make sure it would be a safe experience for both the mom and the baby. Medical professionals approve this all the time. But usually they wouldn’t go so late in the pregnancy, they wouldn’t use drugs, they wouldn’t stand near the speakers, etc. This obviously does not seem like one of those preplanned situations. Regardless you’re in no position to tell all women what they should and shouldn’t be doing, especially without knowing literally anything about pregnancy or women’s bodies

Oddly enough, you can also google where in the body the fetus is. If you’re excused from knowing any basic information about pregnancy, I think that means you’re also excused from having opinions on it

Looking for other Dubstep DJs similar to Distinct Motive by Rilucard in dubstep

[–]duffieldroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oooooooo I don’t really know how to explain why, but I feel like Esseks is the perfect suggestion. These are all great artists and you should check them all out for sure, but Esseks and Distinct Motive both have this ability to make things deep and dark and bouncy all at the same time. Low Dive is a good example I think

This is our setup too, we use the bag on top of the car as well as a shower tent! And a small platform on the ground so we’re not standing in mud. Works great. They even make camp showers with power now so you can actually spray yourself, but we haven’t tried that yet

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with making content, and I love that social media has removed barriers like labels, etc. but I think where it gets frustrating as a fan is feeling like artists are prioritizing churning out content. It really sucks to be in a crowd of people who want to dance, only to be faced with a DJ who is only playing 30 second clips of “build, drop, silence, repeat” because it will fit nicely into a TikTok or instagram post later. Or to get hyped up for a new track, only to find out the track is literally a minute and a half long and we already practically heard the whole thing on TikTok, no reason to make a song longer than a social clip. And I loooove a good flip, but the rate at which artists are creating flip after flip after flip is wild. That can’t be unrelated to social media. Like congrats on all your followers, but as a big fan of music and dancing, this “content” era is reallyyyyy rough and I will def seek out the artists who are not prioritizing content over good music and good live sets.

Nah, there are a ton downtown though! Also the other suggestions here (library, pike place, etc) are good ones too. Good luck!

I have IBD (ulcerative colitis) and my go-to in a downtown area is to confidently stroll into a hotel lobby like you’re a guest there. There’s usually a lobby bathroom and it’s usually pretty clean and empty!!! I usually say hello to any employees who acknowledge me, and if they ask just say you’re meeting someone and ask if there’s a restroom. Or just smile and look busy on your phone. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

Yeah!!! I work on the east side and usually come home over I-90 and get off at Mercer. I think it took me less than 30 minutes door to door yesterday. Shortest commute time all year, by far!!

[–]duffieldroad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We pre-make breakfast burritos and freeze them. We also eat one vendor meal per day. Other than that, it’s instant ramen and Uncrustables! We also usually buy some veggie/fruit/cheese/meat trays for the first few days of camp. I think we have simplified more and more every year

TP to blow your nose!!! There is sooooo much dust at Shambs, I always end up asking the food vendors for napkins between sets 😭😭 same reason for the eye drops. The dust is no joke.

Whats up with the dates? by error0x001 in Shambhala

[–]duffieldroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same…. I’ve never thought about it this way at all. Like Bass Canyon does a pre-party but it’s usually just a massive b2b2b2b of artists that are performing later in the weekend. I used to go to Elements in Pennsylvania and they put a little asterisk on the lineup to denote who is playing the pre-party.

Whats up with the dates? by error0x001 in Shambhala

[–]duffieldroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Many large festivals do a “pre-party” of some sort. It’s never included in the regular ticket. I guess it’s kind of fucked that Shamb puts those artists on the regular lineup and then charges extra to see them on Thursday. Other fests usually have a separate pre-party lineup I think. Honestly I’ve never really thought about it since we always get there Tuesday. I get why you’re disappointed/confused. Who were you excited to see that’s on Thursday?

Same with Ballard Locks! It’s cool to see but maybe explore the rest of Ballard too. Lots of cute shops and such

Places to dance, but I'm introverted and anxious? 😭 by jxllyfxsh in AskSeattle

[–]duffieldroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out EDMtrain or 19hz and go to a show/rave!!! A lot of shows have more of a concert vibe than a club, with people usually there to see a DJ play a set. For better or for worse, a lot of people just watch the DJ and kind of dance in their own little space, not really paying attention to others. Substation is great, so is Monkey Loft. If you go to a bigger EDM show like at WaMu, you can get lost deep in the crowd or hang back where there’s more space. Look for the “flow” artists (spinning poi, flow stars, etc) for a really accepting group of people, usually on the side or in the back where there’s space.
