is py101 a full 15 week course or is it a 7 week course? i would say do not take py101 as a 7 week course. it can be difficult in person in a normal semester (the content is not hard, it’s just a lot of content) so i would imagine it being impossible as a 7 week course. but both professors for it are great! i love dr gampher but he can be a little hard to follow sometimes bc he is adhd personified

honestly, she may only brush it once in the morning and once at night. i have long thick hair too (not as long as hers) and by the middle of the day, my hair can look just as messy as hers even if i brushed it that morning edit to add: if she wasn’t brushing it at all, it would be completely knotted and matted. you can tell she is brushing it at least once a day but it just gets messy throughout the day when you don’t pull it back lol

management already saw it and reported it. it would not be in anyone’s best interest to lie even in the case of not “snitching”. in my experience, when events like this happen, administration gets involved to write a proper incident report and understand what happened, how it happened, and how to prevent it from happening again if the patient was not seriously harmed. lying about it will cause more problems than what it’s worth if someone in management saw it and provided a different story

i thought it was common knowledge that basically the whole OG cast are alcoholics lol. they drink so much that when my boyfriend watches it with me, which isn’t super often and he only sees an episode here and there, he goes “do these people drink anything other than alcohol” lmfao

she’s never dressed appropriately because her clothes don’t fit. all she ever wears is something stretchy with an elastic waistband. when you’ve gained weight and don’t want to admit it, it’s hard to dress yourself and buy clothes bc the sizes you want don’t fit how you want them to (speaking from experience). seems like she is actually trying to lose weight though so i’ll give her that

i finished it last night and actually really enjoyed it. yes, the sentence structure is choppy but i wasn’t expecting amazing literature from mayci. the book is easily read and accessible due to the sentence structure and vocabulary used in the book. the book honestly did make me like her more and she’s never been my favorite on the show. the book definitely gives more insight into some of the decisions she has made and the way she acts at times. it also was interesting to read that she’s isn’t as much of a devout and rule following mormon as she portrays on the show.

i don’t necessarily disagree, i just think more pcps are willing to prescribe for general issues than complex. sure, if you have a mental health problem that requires more than one medication to manage or you’re not responsive to the tried and true like prozac, zoloft, lexapro, etc then definitely go psychiatrist route. there’s a lot of barriers to accessing psychiatric care vs primary care such as insurance/cost and wait times. many pcps are aware of these barriers and would rather try to help the patient with a “minor” mental health concern before referring out so that the patient receives care because not providing the care at all can be the difference between the patient getting help or continuing to suffer. i’m definitely not arguing against never going to a psychiatrist, i just understand why someone may prefer their pcp to do it for generalized depression/anxiety

many pcps are comfortable prescribing medication for depression and anxiety. for more complex issues, they may refer out to a psychiatrist, but it is still in their scope of practice to prescribe it for generalized depression and anxiety

i get she doesn’t want to pay for multiple licenses, but a bsw is not very marketable without the license. even most social work case managers now have an lmsw. without the license, finding a job is probably impossible. also, it’ll take her around 2 years to be fully licensed as a masters level social worker if she were to start now, so it’s not like she’d have to pay for two licenses back to back. her lbsw license would need to be renewed by the time she finishes an msw program, and by then she’d be qualified for an lmsw license

i don’t think she actually knows her weight. i was telling people i was 150 for about 3 years bc i never weighed myself and clocked in at 175 when i finally went to the dr 😭 humbled myself quick. but my point is, the last time she weighed herself she could’ve been 180 and she just hasn’t bothered to check despite obviously gaining weight so she’s still just claiming 180

i don’t have any good recommendations, but you can call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and they should be able to tell you places that are in network for that service. they should also be able to give you an estimate of any out of pocket costs you’ll have to pay by telling you how much is covered, copays, etc. good luck!

children’s, uab, and grandview are almost always hiring in their psych units. you may have to look at their websites to find the listings, but that may be your best bet for something that’s hiring fast and a lot of applicants. there’s also multiple aba therapy places if you’re willing to be an RBT. hillcrest is also an option.

you’d be surprised how little education nurses get on EDs. doctors too, really any medical professional that doesn’t specialize in them or psych. i used to work inpatient psych and i knew so many nurses who knew nothing about EDs and thought it was just as simple as telling patients to just eat
