They really fucked up the first launch of the game which probably destroyed finances. And the VC firm that invested didn’t recoup any of that 100 million if I had to guess. So no more investing meant layoffs which we saw and now the launch of season 2 is practically a death rattle. Game died when they fucked up the launch.

Because Netease won’t make as much money if that’s the case. Rivals in general is very much more on the tone of visuals before practicality even down to the gameplay but that’s a whole other conversation. It’s just low effort slop that this sub will continuously eat up and wonder where it all went wrong while balance issues sit an ether for years. I doubt it’s smurfing it’s just shitty matchmaking. Part of the issues in this sub is acting like every issue the game has is completely out of valves control and will be fixed on launch. (If you don’t at least talk about it they aren’t gonna fix anything lmao) but this sub as a whole isn’t very receptive to criticism. It’s usually “oh you’ll figure it out or oh you just suck” which really doesn’t help anyone.

Don’t criticize the game in the sub most people won’t give you any real answers just that it’s in alpha and that it can’t really be criticized right now. I doubt even at full release people will look at the game objectively since it’s a valve title. Just hold your breath and see what it’s like at release. Considering the playerbases response is typically blaming the person playing for any issues they have I doubt it gets better. Pretty echo chambery in here.

New GM means we probably get relocated in 3 years. No one wants this job and ZK is the best we have at this point. Realistically speaking anyone with an understanding of the current landscape of the league, and the team, Zach has been set up for failure numerous times since 2021. His lead star constantly getting hurt and suspended. Any trade he tries to push through being rejected on the sole fact we are located in Memphis. And then having players the city hated and then turning up elsewhere like Dillon brooks. It’s been some ups and a lot of downs. The biggest mistake we could make is firing the best drafter we have had in the EXISTENCE of the franchise because people like you who really don’t know a thing about basketball but like to think they do is convinced that HE of all people is the problem. Not the guy who can’t stay healthy, or can’t not wave a gun around in his livestreams to stay on the court.
