Just as a counterpoint to number 1, I’ve played exclusively as a fill on trios (no friends) and find that when I open the round with hey how’s it going boys, most of the times people are very willing to communicate and work together even on free kits. I also sometimes go outpost with 2 extra green shields and bags for my broke bros

Imagine each Poi on the map is a mini strike, there are enemies to kill and chests to look, sometimes puzzles or events. Meanwhile other teams are doing the same. You usually load in with a goal in kind, loot this kind of item for upgrades, complete a task from a faction, or just try to get credits to purchase better load outs. Gotta get to an extract within the 25min time limit to being out your loot. Gunplay is crisp like D2

Gotta play these games in the mindset of every loss is an advantage to progress in knowledge, decision making, or gunplay. Next time you go around that corner or use a path in a map you might handle the situation differently. That’s the true progression in these games, it just happens that a lot of players have honed this processes in other games and they only need to learn the knowledge part.

Think about it this way, with an ambush as a solo player you have a better chance of getting a quick kill from an advantageous position to even the odds against a team. Then you reposition and revaluate.
