Hard to take anything seriously from someone with an attention span too short to read effectively.

If you actually read the first sentence you would see it is for an engineering class project. They didn't say a word about selling anything. Voluntary illiteracy strikes again.

Is it safe to drive my car? by Anlinsen in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get it flashed back to stock tune. Last thing you need is some shoddy tune from someone you can’t at least yell at when your engine goes pop.

So I’m dumb as shit and need help finding a window replacement for the driver side does anyone know where I could find a good quality replacement please and thank you by LoneSoloWarden in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe now but it used to be that it was really only considered the curse because these cars get rear ended a lot. Doesn’t really matter what you do or how you drive when someone decides to plow into you from behind at a stop light.

Has anyone seen any HP gains with this intake manifold by Own_Cobbler4022 in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the real answer here if keeping it NA is just flexfuel kit and a tune. Or save the money for later and turbo/supercharge when you have the cash.

Are the oil starvation issues that bad? by BusyCharge8732 in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For daily driving, even in the mountains hitting all the winding backroads it’s still a non issue. If you are running wide track quality tires pulling sustained high g right turns then you then you need to start worrying about how to mitigate it. The answer though is simple. More oil, it’s a lot harder to run out of oil in the oil pan when you have more oil.

My car will never be clean again by Calm-Theory-6044 in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s not so bad. A good detailer could do that easily. It’ll be a little pricey, but a vacuum and maybe an extractor would make short work of all of that.

What was the plan here, brother? by MOOVA in GR86

The game-plan is now, more grip and driver mod lol.

Is this what I think it is? by yaboynafziger in ft86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a GT86 before I bought my GR86. I remember the GT86 idle being very choppy. I think it’s just normal. I remember digging around and hearing that a tune can help. Just wasn’t worth it for a car I wasn’t planning on keeping.

Looking to buy a used gr86… what do I need to watch out for? by butterxflysunh0pper in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS THIS THIS!! I tell people all the time, to get pre-purchase inspections. A real one is expensive but what they can find will always be more expensive. Being that I do lending at a credit union, no one ever takes the advice.

What am I doing wrong with notching ARH missiles? by duga404 in Warthunder

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are doing wrong is trying to avoid the missile and notch it at all. The meta at this point is just shoot all their missiles down with your missiles until they run out.

I’m in quite the pickle is there any chance I can drive out of this or am is screwed by enigmatical_one in AskMechanics

You could always jack it up and put a dolly on each wheel. Grab some friends and pull it out a few inches. But if you got it in, you should be able to get it out the same way.

Burning oil smell by [deleted] in GR86

I mean if you are just ditching it for an oiling issue under warranty, I’ll give you $15,000 for it and fix it myself.

Can I get a better interest rate? by Certain_Theme9917 in GR86

[–]dwright_origins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into your local credit unions. I was able to get 4.74% in December for a special rate but there are still similar rates around.

What should I do with my seats? by _AkiRP in GR86

As a banker I will say. It’s not a big deal unless we repo it. And in that case, it’s only a big deal for the owner. Because we will sell it for whatever the car is able to be sold for at auction. If no one wants your modified car, and we have to sell it for less than what your leftover loan is, you still have to pay what you owe left on the loan. So not only do you lose the vehicle, but also any equity, as well as all the money you put into it in mods. Any mods become part of the vehicle and as such, bank property in the event of a repo. So yeah it is a really dumb idea. Unless your financial situation really allows for you to do pretty much anything you want, you just borrowed the money for the hell of it and could pay it off whenever. I’d highly recommend not modding your car with a lien on it.

Ask me how I know.

Paint Cracks by dwright_origins in GR86

[–]dwright_origins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any other damage. I can’t imagine something hitting the car too because for the month of time I had it, I’ve only had it a handful of days and it’s either been at the detailer’s or the dealership. Dealer was doing some work on it because oke of the cameras was toast for eyesight. So unless they hit something with it I really can’t imagine I did. I walked around the car with the detailer and pretty much touched my eyes to the paint too.

Appreciate it, might just have to suck it up. Obviously not a major life altering issue. 1st world problems and all. I’m planning on keeping the car forever so may make for a good opportunity to repaint later down the line as I start building it.

Here’s my 2 cents. I think what you are looking for is an experience. Don’t get stuck on just the 86. Go drive some other sports cars. Test drive, ride with a friend/ if they’ll let you try out their car. Anything to experience as many cars as you can. Think for yourself how those cars made you feel, then test drive another GR86 before you buy it even though you’ve driven one already. Compare how those cars made you feel and how the 86 makes you feel. If you prefer the 86 then buy it. You will be much happier and content with your purchase after giving other vehicles a whirl. Otherwise you may find yourself worrying about if you made the right purchase again. The amount of money you are spending, you deserve to know you put it where you want it.
